Two of the pics are too large and I haven't a clue how to shrink them.  I think this one is ok though.

I have some great news guys......George (as he is now named) has a new home!  The Cats Protection came and took a photo for their website and a lovely couple came to see him at the weekend.  The took him home with them the same day.  They have recently lost their elderly cat and they just fell in love with George as soon as they saw him.  They have emailed me to let me know he is settling in fine and that we can go visit if we want.  They have sent me some pics which I will try to attach if they are not too big.

Thank you so much to everyone on here for their help.  I couldn't have wished for a happier ending. :):):)

Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it.

I probably would be happy to leave him as you say Angie, but I have four cats of my own and although I have been looking after him for 12 days I only introduced them properly one at a time a couple of days ago.  He is very easygoing but my cats are, as you can imagine, not very enthusiastic about this new lodger!

My mother-in-law comes and feeds our own cats when we are away and they have a catflap so they can come and go as they please.  I don't want to leave this new guy with the rest of them while we are away in case there is an aggressive confrontation.   But I'm also not happy about leaving him alone in the main part of the house while we are away.

(I have just been looking at Fiona's website and found it really refreshing to read her quote 'there is only one race the human race and it doesn't matter who you help as long as are helping somebody'.  That is so true)

Just off to email the pic to you Dawn, ty.

I've just had this email through so if all else fails  :Luv2:

Hi Dawn,

Just seen the mail re the stray needing a fosterer for the weekend.  I would have taken him on a permanent basis but I am in east Essex and can't do any transport as I am here alone looking after the 300 other animals at the Sanctuary!

Perhaps if you get no other offers of help you could get back to me.  I am offering him a 'permanent indoor house home' as I don't re-home any animals.

If I don't hear from you, I hope he finds a super forever friend to care for him for the rest of his life!

Love Fiona and the gang

TBH, I don't think it would matter if you left him for that length of time. Put down an extra litter tray, a big bowl of water and some dry cat food.
Can't anyone from th CP pop in to feed him if you are worried?

I do have a picture of him but I think it's too large to upload.  Haven't got a clue how to reduce it!

Could I email it to you?

Hi, if you can pm me your contact details, I will put a plea out for you, I can't promise anything as it's quite short notice but I will give it a try for you.  Just click on my profile and either email/pm me  Fingers crossed you'll find someone, it would be better still if he can find a home rather than having to go into a rescue  :wish:

Hello everyone.  This is my first post on here, it looks like a lovely forum and I hope someone can help me out.

I am looking after a stray male cat that I took in 12 days ago.  He is quite elderly, neutered, flead, wormed, housetrained and has a lovely nature.  I can't keep him but shall be looking after him until my local Cats Protection have a place for him.

My problem is that we are going away on Saturday afternoon and won't be home until Monday morning.  Is there anyone reading this who would be able to look after him for me just while I am away please?  I am in North Birmingham.

Thank you for reading.

Ann
