Simba and Coco are doing great too, bouncing around as usual, don't cats seem to heal quickly??....if it wasn't for the missing fur on her side, the way she's acting you would never think she'd had anything done.....aw she's a good girl (proud miowmy and daddy)

 :thanks: to you all for your concern.

Coco is absolutely great, no problems at all thank heavens........Had to take Simba to the Vets on Thurs night....not a well boy at all...we were really worried about him, he was very sick through the night and wouldn't even come out of his doughnut bed on Thurs morning...no breakfast...(no steroids)! no drinks, no toilet, no NOTHING!!!!!we took him to vets and she gave him his steroid by injection and said she wanted to see him again this morning (because if he hadn't had anything to drink we would have to put him on a drip) poor lad looked awful.....so brought him home and he went straight back to the donut again.....5am today  he was jumping around like a good un ;D little monkey....scaring us like that :naughty: :naughty: had his brekky, went to the toilet and I caught him sniggering at us behind our backs!!!  so he hasn't been back to the vets today (not needed, Thank heavens)....poor John I feel sorry for....Coco spayed Tuesday....Me in hospital for operation on Weds.....Simba at vets Thurs...whatever next

anyway folks, thanks for your thoughts, we really appreciate it.

bye for now
 ;D ;D ;D ;D

:thanks: for asking Sam, yes it was Tues she went in and she's absolutely fine.  She's got 3 little stitches and is taking her antibiotics like a good girl ;D.  Stitches come out in 10 days time.

Simba is a bit sicky today though, I think it is the upset with Coco, because he was clucking around like a mother hen when she came back from the vets. (they obviously did not enjoy being separated!!) aw bless.  So am keeping a beedy eye on them both  .

Thanks for asking, will keep you posted.

Aww, glad she can finally be spayed, although I wonder why they are putting her on ab's? STitches are normally 10 days, so an extra 4 shouldnt be too hard, unless she has to wear a cone.

 ;D Hi Folks,

To all of Simba and Coco's friends.....................................

Just to keep you posted.....they are doing fabby and happy and health issues under control nicely.  Coco is going to be spayed next Tues :'( and of course we will worry about her....it's only natural.......we have reduced her steroids again this week in prep for the operation....she will also be put on antibiotics (before and after) starting Sunday, to try to be prepared kind of thing :( and they will leave her stitches in for two weeks rather than one and she will be closely monitored ;) and is in the best hands ;) sooooooooooo
then she can go out to play in the garden and so can Simba....They are so desperate to go and play out now (constantly sitting near the patio doors/dining room french windows) talking and chattering at the birdies!! but they have owned us now for 6 months (how time flies) and we have to pander to their every whim  or else we will be in trouble.

Sorry no photo's, we have got loads....but they are just the same as the other ones really.

will keep you posted....24th June is her operaton...so will let you know how she gets on.

Meanwhile, thank you to everyone who has PM'd us and have become our friends.

You are all super
xxxx

  ;D Hi Sam,

had a lovely Easter thank you, hope you did too and hope you got lots of easter eggs..

Our beautiful meses are doing great.....John took them for a little check up last Thursday and everyone is soooo pleased with them.  They have gained a little more weight each and are looking much much healthier...thank heavens!!

Chasing around their house!! doing what they want when they want to do it!! can't be bad eh? I'm coming back as a cat in my next life....but I want to live in a house like this one  .

Still on steroids, but it seems that at the moment we can't get them off....so be it....at least they have some quality of life now, and that is very important for them.  Both spoilt rotten and fastly becoming Daddy cats ha ha which I am very pleased about because poor John was getting a bit upset....it took a while for them to sit on him for a fuss (he said it is because he was the one to put them in the basket and take them to the lady with the needles  )

will post you some more pikkies at the weekend when I have a little more time.

Thank you for asking

love to you and yours

SAdly, yes, it is more common in unspayed cats who aren't allowed to have kittens. I wrote an article on it which is a sticky on here, the average age for it developing is 10, but best to do monthly checks.

 OMG..... :scared: I will make sure I examine her closely, thanks for that I didn;t know she is more at risk of mammary cancer!! whatever next!! and to answer your question Blackcat...nothing has been said yet about putting her on the pill, I suppose they are just tring to do a bit at a time (with them being poorly for such a long time) that is!

will keep you all posted anyway

Aww, poor Coco - do make sure you do regular breast examinations on her (just means rubbing your hands along them), as she will be at more risk of mammary cancer, and by picking up on it early, you really could save her life, so many cases dont get picked up until it is too late, as it is one of the cancers that spreads quite easily. Hope you can get her off the steroids soon.

have they considered putting her on the pill in the interim? Not sure if that would be contra-indicated with the steroids, but it would save her the stress of constant calling which may be counter-productive to curing her more 'basic' problems. Good to hear they are going well though, you must be so pleased!! :Luv:

 ;D Hi,

no Coco won't be able to be spayed for a bit yet....we need to try to get her off the steroids before they will do it.  They said that if it turns out that we can't get them off, then they will do it, but are very reluctant to spey her until she's off steroids. ;D she will be at a much greater risk of infection etc if they do it while on steroids....and she's been through enough already so we will just have to see how she goes.  They are both very happy and very settled now though and it is lovely ;D.  Fantastic to see them, doing what they want, when they want, and snuggling daddy and following me.....spoilt rotten.
