It seems strange to see her, as we have had female cats before but they have always been spayed....aw bless her I feel quite sorry for her....she is deperado!!!

Ooooer, Siamese are notoriously loud and raucous when calling...  You have my sympathies Jackie, I'm sure that Coco is doing your head in...  :evillaugh:

BTW, Toby sometimes gets amorous with Pearl - though they've both been sorted.  :shify: She'll tolerate it up to a point, but then when she's fed up, will grab Toby in a headlock and chew his whiskers off!

Hi Jackie

Slippery elm is my new wonder herbal supplement, together with Eagle Pack Holistic anchovy flavoured dry food.  I discovered it when I was researching into IBD when we were considering taking Beanie on.  Quite a few sites suggested it for cats with the runs and so I though I would try it on Tarka.  It was like a miracle with him.  I started with the slippery elm and it honestly worked within 12 hours.  After spending his entire 7 month life with a constantly runny bum, he is now 98% of the time dry.  I think the only time we have lapses is when he manages to get some food he should not have, or manages to hide the fact that he has not had his tablet.

I get mine from Petmeds.co.uk and if you quote promotion code "8lives" with them you can get 5% discount.

I wonder if it is worth you trying the slippery elm for the runny bums.  It seems to have worked wonders for Tarka and because it is a herbal supplement it should not affect their medication.

Glad to hear Coco's finally in season and hopefully you'll eventually get them off the steroids.  I've had a few of mine that have still got the urge, Dylan and Sooty were both done at 6 months and Dylan used to take great delight in entertaining Sally, and Sooty still tries to get a grip of her when he's feeling amorous.  I think you will find regardless of when they are done, some cats, as the same with dogs, the urge will still be there.  Zak my shepherd cross again was done at 6 months, he still has his daily romp with Kara, I do think with him though he has excess hormone or something has been left behind, because a chemical castration stopped him in his tracks for a while  ;)

Aw, sorry to hear they're a little of colour, hopefully a trip to the lady with needles won't be necessary until you need to go back next week

Hope the runny bums sort themselves out again soon, and glad that Coco is not pregnant, even if you do have a rampant Simba running around the place now  :evillaugh:

Am glad Coco is in season, at least it means she isn't pregnant!! Simba will probably be showing interest due to being neutered so late. Hope you can get the meds sorted though.

Hi everyone,
sorry not posted for a while, I was away on a course last week and John won't type!!

We reduced the babies steroids again at the beginning of last week....but had to put it back up because we were runny bums again....luckily only on the kitchen floor this time....we had noticed it getting a bit softer but thought we had to try and when we went on to every other day...thats when the runs came back :'(.  Coco is now in full swing in season!! and Simba keeps trying to oblige...OMG I thought once he had been neutered he wasn't interested?? oh dear....so we are having fun in our house as you can imagine.......They seem to have developed a cough again this week too, so keeping a very beady eye on them and will take them back to the lady with needles if deemed necessary.  I spoke to them yesterday when I picked up the food and they want us to go back next week....so will obviously keep you posted.  We are beginning to think that we will never get them off medication....then what happens??

keep you all posted anyway

Jackie, John Simba and rampant Coco

 ;D

Hi folks,

been to the Vets today and they are thrilled to bits with the little ones.  They haven't gained any more weight, or at least we don't think they have, neither of them would stand still enough to be weighed properly :naughty: :sneaky:.  We have to reduce steroids again on Friday and just continue like this until hopefully we can get them off all together.  I asked about having Coco spayed, and the vet agrees it does need to be done BUT not while she is still on steroids..... so we will have to see how the weaning off goes, if we can't get them off completely...then the vet will do it...but for now there is no rush and we just want to get everything settled down first. ;D Meanwhile, the phantom pregnancy seems to be subsiding   the boobies have gone down and she isn't as round as she was last week ha ha
Simba is looking good, and Coco is looking good and they are both happy bunnies and that's all that matters isn't it. ;D ;D  They dont have to go back now for a month, we will obviously keep in touch via telephone and see how they are, but unless it is necessary we will not take them back until we get them off the steroids and they can have a monthly weigh in ha ha ;D f they will stand still and be good :P

Jackie, regarding Madam Coco, check her nipples. If they're very pink and prominent, then you've got a pregnancy, either phantom or real.

She definitely won't be pregnant, if she is, she will be over 9 weeks now or the breeder was lying about having Simba done.  If I remember, I will ask the vets tomorrow when he was neutered as I've got Vita in for spaying.

We are so very happy to be the proud Slaves of these 2.  Just goes to show what a bit of patience, and a good Vet can achieve ha ha

thanks again for the pikkies Gill.
