Everyone who knows the history knows that when Hills discontinued their prescription L/d wet food (liver diet: beef), I was in a desperate state as Swampy needed it to stay healthy/ier and I couldn't get it at all and everything else made him sick. Helen so kindly helped me out with a few weeks' supply. Then I discovered it was still available in France so brought a lot of it back from there, thinking I'd have enough for a year of Swamp's life. However, his needs changed and now he's on prescription kidney food and i/d (but I don't regret the stockpiling, as who knows....). I want to keep some in case his liver flares up again, but the expiry date of the trays I have got is July 2008.
I rang around and emailed rescues I saw on Cat Chat but no-one seems to want the food. I rang Celia Hammond's rescue org in Lewisham and a young girl who answered said maybe, took my no but they haven't rung back. (I will contact them again). I can't bear it to go to waste when I know that somewhere someone could use the food for either sick or elderly cats. It would have to be the London area though for transport reasons, but I want to give it to whoever needs it.
Can anyone help please? I was going to put this post in the donations for rescues section, but it seems that it's not read or posted in as much as here.
