Just had a call from RVC, they had the results back and she said after their pathologist has analysed the privious biopsy from Boy's intestines, its lymphoma and not IBD. She said she thinks 6 to 8 weeks thats how long he has left and its no need to take him back on monday because it really no need to do more test to find out if there are changes in his pancreas, and well thats it i have to go cant write anymor

could be it started as an allergy but then the skin developed a fungal infection as well - might be an idea to get skin scrapings done ...

Hi, Boy had his B12 today and has put on over 100 grams in weight whic is good , now i have to take him on monday to RVC and they will have all the results and will do more blood test and ultrasound to see if there are changes in the size of the mass in his pancreas.

Phoebe eye is really sore , i told Caroline today and she said she think its some kind of allergy but she doesnt think its flea allegy since its only on her face ,and not all over her body, but i have to take her in, so she gave me Diazepam to give to Phoebe on friday morning and then take her :tired:

Thanks Maddiesmum, he is not too bad today, he was sick early morning but only once today.

Ruth saw him today, when she was around visiting little Pippa, she agreed he has lost so much weight :(

I speak to caroline on wednesday when Boy is going for B12 injection, and see if they can put him back on the tablets to help him not to get sick, but next monday we are going back to heartfordshire RVC, by then they will have all the results back and then they might start the steroid treatment, right now we taking each day as it comes. :)  x

Hi Maddiesmum, my little guy is not well he started getting sick again, he's been sick 3 times today.i just have to see how it goes this wekend :(

He has appointment at 9.am on wednesday for his B12 injection with Caroline , so i am praying he doesnt get worse in next few days, other wise i have to take him to heartfordshire RVC in case of emergency, they have 24 hours vets but his appointment with them is next week thats when the vet which has seen him is going to be there and i really dont want to take him to a place which no one knows him. But if it gets worse then i have to.  :(

Caroline told me few weeks ago if its IBD or cancer the tratment are similar which is cortison, but i didnt know it can do more damage or make things worse?
Last year when DD was diagnosed with pancreatin cancer, the vet told me steroid injections will give her some time and also she will be able to eat, and he came every 3 or 4 days and gave her the injection, and the last time he increased the amount he said it will last 2 to 3 weeks, but it lasted 3 days and she got very sick, i know she wasnt in pain.  The last day she just couldnt keep the food down thats when i knew i have to set her free. :Luv:  :'(

I dont know may be Boy's case is different because and more complicated, thats why they holding off the steroid treatment untill their pathologist gives a second opinion on his biopsies.

I really dont know whats best anymore, i told some one few nights ago its just like everything is happening all over again and exactly the same time as last year .
He does eat the new food but last night when i went to feed Phoebe he smelled the food and started purring and following me so i thought i feed Phoebe on the sofa so he cant see , then he came and sat close to her started purring to see if he can get some of her food, the only thing he got from her was a bang on the head, i didnt know to laugh or feel sorry for him, he just loves his treats and food and now no more, he is so sweet.

I am so sorry to hear this and agree with you that too put him through surgeery just for the vets curiosity would not be acceptable.

i hope that maybe steroids would give him a quality of life, as long as they do not do more damage or cause him pain.

My heart is with you and Boy

Pavvy so sorry I've not been online as much the last couple days.

I don't know what to say. I couldn't be in your shoes right now. I hope that above all, the steriods work, but if the key is to give Boy a good quality of life and keep him happy until the time comes, then I would choose the same as you.

No one could love him more honey, he has the best carer in the world right now.

I did the same as you with Tiger Pav - I dont see the point in putting them through the surgery to get an answer if there is no way of treating it (and obviously the anaesthetic risk in an older animal). I wish things were sounding more positive for you both though. I would be tempted to push for the steroids in case it is IBD, as long as it wouldnt make things worse if it weren't. Fingers crossed he likes the food.

YesTeresa he came home yesterday, diagnosis they gave is hyperthroid which they gave me Fwlimazole and they dont want to start him yet on steroid because they are not sure if its IBD or lymphoma, they are going to reassess BOY'S steroid therapy after the results of the biopsy analysis, they said the only other way to know better about his condition is to take surgical full thickness biopsies of his intestines but there are risks and since i dont want him to go through chemotherapy if lymphoma found then its best not to do it.

The ultrasound scan showed there is a mass in his pancreas, and they aspirated some cells, but they cant rull out if its a tumour or inflammation, and this needs a surgical biopsy as well to know more? But they said if its pancreatic tumour then prognosis is not good.

They have put him under a diet which is venison (Hills D/D tinned), ONLY , no other treat or dry food and he has to go every week for B12 injection.
They want me to take him back in 3 weeks to do ultrasound to see if there is changes in the mass in his pancreas and blood test for his thyroid?
And also to decide if i want them to operate and see , but i really am not sure if there is any point , because if its cancer they cant do anything
and may be is best to start the steroid .
I saw Caroline today and she said pancreatic cancer is no cure which i know because DD had it last year and they couldnt do anything and for his bowel biopsy its the risk of intestinal wound breakdown, so basicly i dont think i can do anything but hope its not cancer or lymphoma which i think it is . Caroline also said the only reason people agree with operation at this stage is becos they want to know what it is? And she said Boy has been through somuch already and i agree thats why i dont want to put him through chemo, but if anyone has any advise i appreciate. Pav
