I am so sorry things aren't looking good, I would be tempted to change his food to make sure it isn't that, and I hope Caroline will be open with you, I ask my vet what she would do, and at first she was reluctant, but she is now open with me, so if Caroline is a bit reluctant at first, do push for an answer, you need to know all the options to decide if you are being fair or not. It is such an awful place to be in, but I know you will do the best by Boy. Keeping you both in my thoughts.

 Sweetie. I only just saw this.

You know that Caroline will be honest with you. If she sees hope she lets you make that decision for yourself, though she will never encourage letting any of her charges have a difficult or painful quality of life if she knows there is no hope at all and they might be in pain and suffering. Up til now she's been pretty straight with you. As Chrissie says, it could be the NM. Stelly had a stinky runny poo when I had her on that initially, it could just be the higher meat content his belly is adjusting to. Is he a bit more like himself despite the runny tummy?

Get as much info tomorrow as you need. Ask Caroline to give you a benchmark for what Boy might be experiencing. She's been a vet for 20 years, she's got enough experience to at the very least let you know what his chances are.

I wish you didn't have to go through all this

Oh Pav I am sorry.  It could be the NM - it did give Charlie dreadful smelly diarrhoea.  It could also be his pancreas.  I think you will know what is the right thing to do when the time is right to do and I think you have to be guided by Caroline.  I do hope things improve for BOY he has had such a dreadful time (as have you) and I am here for you should you need me.  Try and be strong as you have been all along.

I am so sorry Pav. Its so hard to know what is the best thing to do but I think at the end of the day , the quality of life is important for Boy.

You know Boy the best and whether you think that this medicine is helping him  or doing the reverse, I dont know what prognosis and time that Caroline has given Boy but my thought is that you must ask her to be honest with you on this. If she isnt then you cannot make a thoughtful decision.

This is the hardest time of all for all cat slaves and most of us do not handle it well at all as we all would like an extra day, week or month with our special friend.

I hope and am sure that Caroline will be honest with you and help you to make what ever decision is best for Boy.

I have been constantly thinking about you and Boy and I hope that your chat with Caroline will go well

Boy has got a really bad diarrhoea again, i dont know if its to the with Natures Menu ? But tbh i dont think so , cos he had diarrhoea recently and then got better and started again, the smell was

so bad that it woke me up this morning at 4 and i sleep upstairs and he used the tray down in the kitchen   Sorry ! I am thinking it must be the medication. I noticed that i can see his skin between the fur and he is getting bald patches on his back leg, so i am going to call Caroline tomorrow cos she is in the surgery and ask if the Chemo is having this effect on him ? She told me the dose on his chemo is very low and he wont have the side effect as human do?

Sadly he still has very little energy and i am begining to think i can see whats happening to him outside but dont know how he is feeling inside and may be what i am putting him through is not fare? :(.
I am not sure if iam making sense but i always said i am against chemo for my cats, but they told me the other med will not work without the Leukeran!
Its just so hard to decide whats right ?  :thanks:

Thank you. Boy and Pheobe are both fine today no problem with thier tumys :) I am going to start them with just one pouch each every day till they get use to it.

They are used to mix selection as well so the Nature Menu might not cause any problem, i see how it goes for next few days . :thanks:

Glad it doesn't seem to have caused them much problems. Mine were fine on it (but they are used to a mix of catfood anyway), but I had a fsoter that pinched it and it made her poorly

Yes it is very rich but it depends of course what food he is used to.

I hope Boy and Pheobe will be fine with it and maybe in small meals it will be OK

Ooops thankyou for telling me about upset tummy, yes i tried the chicken&Turkey and as Christina said mixed it with warm water and both Pheobe and Boy liked it, so now i have to watch them and see how it goes?
I havent tried ck,tuna and salmon yet!

But why it causes upset tums If they are not use to it! Is it too rich?

Boy is better with his diarrhoea , so  hope it doesnt make him worse and as for Pheobe i see by tomorrow if she get runs :-:

I would also be careful with it, as it can cause upset tums if cats aren't used to it. Does he like chicken and tuna?

Be careful with the Natures Menu Pav, this is what caused Charlie to have sickness and the runs.  Please let us know how BOY gets on though

Sorry to hear that BOY has been being sick again, Pav.

I hope he likes the Natures Menu: if he enjoys sloppy food, mixing cooled boiled water into it to make a slushy stew worked well for Blip earlier and might help if BOY just wants small amounts?

Christine, thankyou for asking about Boy, touch wood he hasnt been sick since last week and i am so greatfull for that.

Boy has been having his dry i/d and normal food in very small portions and often, i know it wont last for long but for now he is having a good week and with having cancer i guess we have to take every day as it comes! Thats what i keep telling my self . :)

I just want to say thankyou to every one , it means a lot to have people who care. :thanks:

Chrissie, thankx for being here for us. Hope Charlie is doing well after his jabs, so pleased he has a nice mummy like you.x

Not so good Gill, thank heaven for baby wipes.!! He is not eating the i/d pouch and just eating the dry i/d and normal food but hasnt been sick for 3 days, so i think is mainly the Felimazole which making him sick and the rich food doesnt help, in last 2 months that his been having the medications his had really few bad weeks and then it just gets better and back again to being sick , my poor Boy. But on good days we make the most of it, well we try.xxx

Well I think you are doing the right thing Pav, you are being guided by Caroline and she thinks he is doing ok so he probably is.  I think when we are emotionally involved we always think the worst, I know I did with Dragan and find myself starting to do it with Charlie.  So long as he seems happy then he still has a quality of life.  Hope he is ok today , give him a big  from me and Charlie x

Boy was sick again this morning but not much since he didnt eat much yesterday, he still has bad diarrheoa. Today he started eating the i/d pouch but small amount cos he is hungry and i am not putting anything else down for him, i feel really bad but i want to see if it makes a difference.

I know now that one reason for him being sick is the thyroid tab but i have to see if the i/d pouch and dry food is making a dfference in how much he throw up or not?
Its so hard now cos i am not sure if its tab or food but i think his diarrheoa caused by new food...

Chrissie to be honest i dont know whats right to do , but trying. :thanks:
