We already had a "Beware of the cats" sign on the front gate before we adopted Minnie ... it was meant to be ironic but it suddenly seems quite apt!

It looks as if Minnie's new ambition is to be a guard cat!

Minnie is a growler - she growls at Bertie and Bella if they invade her space, and at me if I stop stroking her before she wants me to!  Bella has now started copying Minnie's growl and sits in the window growling at people who walk past

It's perfectly normal after being moved about for some cats. A kitten I took on while I rehomed it did the same when she first came to stay with us. She also bit me when she arrived, but after that initial panic she only play nipped. She's outgrown the npping now too. :)

Just give Gypsy a chance to settle in - she's just letting you know she isn't a 100% sure about her surroundings yet.

Yeha I think BC is right ... Shanti growls at real or imagined threats from outside.  It's quite funny, actually, as at those times she'll grumble and growl whilst all the time eating her tea!

sounds like she is not feeling completely at home as yet. Mine generally growl when they think there is something going on outside that might constitute a threat so they are making sure I know about it and can protect them. So another cat outside will make them growl, as will a strange sound that makes them uneasy.

 :thanks:
That sound just right really as it is when she hears noises, As she is a very nervous cat she has done very well as she doesnt hide under my bed now  ;D she has to go into my old bedroom at night as mum is slightly worried that the other cats may attack her not as though they would have a chance coz she is so much bigger than the rest
