I have heard of this before where they withdraw their testicles into their abdomen when scared

I've had a reply from Helen about the rats:

Thanks very much for your offer of help, the rats are now safe and have been rescued, got the news earlier today.

Really appreciate your offer though.

Best wishes

I have sent Helen an email.

Thanks Sam

Stuart, these are the sort of peeps rescues deal with on a daily basis, nothing surprises me anymore......you just have to learn to bite your tongue, get the animals out of danger and then kick butt if needed  :evillaugh:

I will be going to Birmingham NEC next Saturday if anyone can get them as far as that I'd happily bring the little fellas back to Nottingham with me.

Sam, that might be worth a try   Is there any chance you can contact southwestanimalprotection@yahoo.co.uk and see if anything can be worked out  :Luv:  Thanks hun, xxxxxxxx

can the guy not separate them ??

Now Stuart, that would be too easy

The reason the SWAP tean have said it's an emergency is because the owners want them gone by weekend otherwise god knows what they will do with them  :tired:

It is very easy to tell the difference between male and female rats. Males have large,
prominent testicles which are visible under the tail from well before the age when they
are ready to leave their mother. They can draw their testicles up inside them if they are afraid,
but will not do this for a long period of time. A good rat breeder or staff at a good pet shop
will find it easy to tell which sex baby rats are. If they cannot tell the difference with ease,
they should not be selling the animals.

:wow:"They can draw their testicles up inside them if they are afraid"  :wow: wish I could do that

Sorry I couldnt be of more help  :-[

Just had this plea come through:

10 LOVELY RATS NEED EMERGENCY TRANSPORT FROM MIDDLESEX TO NOTTINGHAM- CAN YOU HELP?

We have secured 10 rats that are in desperate need of rescuing in the Middlesex area. One of our supporters has kindly offered to take them on at his animal sanctuary in Nottingham we now need a volunteer to do the trip. This is an emergency as the owner of the rats says they want them out by the end of the weekend before they start mating as they are all in a cage together. (4 boys and six girls).
If you can help us get these rats into their safe sanctuary please email me now at southwestanimalprotection@yahoo.co.uk You will need an appropriate transporter for the rats as we don't want any of them to escape.
Thank you for your support
Best wishes
Helen
