Fortunately we are in a little hamlet where people aren't letting fireworks off randomely so it's mostly fine - but there was a display up the local pub on Friday night which really freaked the cats out. They had a massive fight in the middle of friday night which I'm sure must have been caused by the stress of that. We got up in the morning to a pile of fur and two collars on the floor, so I guess it proves that the kittycollars work if nothing else! They are both nice and settled at the moment, nothing else going on round here!

Foxy spent the entire evening snuggled up under the radiator o her pillow. Rossi was asleep on my knee and Zephyr was in a mood cuz I wouldn't let him go out and play .... when he finally realised that no matter how naughty he was I wasn't going to open the door he stationed himself on the windowsill and is happily watching the display.

Ollie & Portia were absolutely fine with last nights fireworks - slept through the lot, but our poor greyhound was panting and wouldn't settle. Luckily there were none too near us.

It's only lunch time and they have started already. I dread the true bonfire night if last night was anything to go by. Have you seen the stick that come down off the rockets .One landed about a foot from out car it was about 3' long and about the circumference of one of my fingers. and had a nail in it. Had it landed on the car I don't want to think what damage it would have caused.

My youngest was NOT happy last night. she's nervy anyway, but someone whose garden backs onto ours was letting off loads of fireworks and knowing what a scaredy cat she is I came into the front room to check on her....poor girl was cowering under the computer chair. I picked her up and carried her through to the room I was in where she sat on my knee for the duration of the fireworks. The other three didn't even seem to notice!

All pretty chilled. Kylie was in the garden quite happily watching them until there was a really loud bang and she ran in. Other than that, no problems. We went out and they were fine. We have blackout blinds in the lower ground floor so no flashes. Left the TV on Classic FM. Willow loves watching them from the kitchen so no problems

Bengals have not been bothered in the slightest. Boys are sleeping but are a little annoyed when a particularly loud one means they have to actually lift their heads to work out whats going on

The girls have been lined up on the window sill in the main room watching the display

Kaiser and Minerva a little more alert than normal but doing just fine

neighbour has done fireworks AGAIN tonight !

If he does them again tomorrow I am going to go and knock and ask him how many more days is he going to do them ?

Cant stand the fella at the best of times !!!

Lilly was better than last night but poor Tramp in hiding behind my bedroom door, I have tried leaving him alone tonight

I was terrified earlier this evening. Bramble didn't want to come in, and she was still out when the fireworks started! Then of course she was too frightened to move. I'm glad to say she eventually came in, and is now sleeping as if nothing happened! I'll be getting them in earlier from now on, just to make sure.

Meesha and Sabby have been sleeping, and Shanti has been watching the fireworks out of the window, bless her.

I didn't let them out at all yesterday or today, just in case they didn't come in before dark. Think they're gonna be glad it's over so they can go out again (cept on the actual 5th). I've taken some of their old toys out of retirement to keep them entertained, although they mostly prefer the box my new microwave came in!

Fireworks started an hour or so ago and so far everyone has been fine.

I did close off our sunroom (like a conservatory but with walls) so they can't go in there where the noise would be much louder.

Harley showed a few signs of being scared but has settled on the new cat tree I bough for Lirael (who's sat in front of the fire).

Billy Whiz just heard his first whizzing one and not at all impressed. Unfortunately he came in to keep his Ma company in front room and can't close curtains in here.

Instead of hugging (couldn't if I tried of course

) just got out Da Bird as distraction and he seems OK and up the stairs now waiting for next Da Bird session.

Lexy's fine. She becomes more alert with the whooshing kind, but she's ok. Alexandra Palace is just up the road and their display is a bit difficult to see from my windows but the noise even from a mile away is phenomenal. Lexy gets more wary of cars and the doorbell than the fireworks. So all good so far.

well for the first time since I have been here we have had some fireworks and Sasa cane rushing in but.............oh well she has come back in again but Misa is still out.......seems like nothing stops mouse hunting!

I think fireworks have stopped tio be honest as they were about 6.30

L n R are not letting it disturb their sleep pattern

Quite pleased actually as they don't like the doorbell going so was worried they might be a bit freaked out by the bangs and whizzes but they have taken it well and truly in their stride

We don't celebrate bonfire night over here. There were loads of fireworks round Halloween though, my cats didn't even seem to notice them going off which I'm so thankful for cos my dog was terrified of them.

We've got a lot more going off here tonight than we have over the past few nights. Boopy isn't too bothered (just waking up when they are going off outside). She got very upset when some were going off quite close by a few weeks ago when she was outside though. Bilbo is currently sitting on top of his cat house in the run watching them as he loves them.

P.S: Before I get told off for Bilbo being outside I did bring him in earlier but he was squealing at the back door for ages to go back out so I let him back out again. He's being checked on regularly and he's got his radio on in his house.

No its not sad, I used to stay at home with Kocka, so that was 10 yrs and only fireworks I saw were thise from neighbours when they wre bouncing off windows.

We dont have fireworks round here and the county website says there are displays but not where.

Was thinking of going to see one this year but rapidy going off the idea cos I reckon they are all too small and just kids stuff, I love really bigdisplays, preferably over the Thames

You're not sadn at ll. I also adore fireworks but radio on, catflap shut, all curtains drawn so, for tonight at any rate, not expecting to see much. Scaring animals is just not a nice thing to do. We might venture out tomorrow for a short time if the boys are OK this evening.

Fortunately, only one of the 6 here seem to be bothered, Tiger seemed fine the odd time I popped down after fireworks had gone off, but as soon as I shut the curtains, she hid behind the settee again, so am leaving hte TV on for her when I go out - I hate the fact my birthday is so close to bonfire night, I do hate leaving them, but also want to celebrate!!

Just wondered how peoples cats are/have been as this weekend will be the one when all the fireworks go off.

We've had ours in since 4pm, but thankfully this year dont have the idiot who used to live 2 doors down that had fireworks which were certainly not 'garden' fireworks - the size of the sticks the rockets were on were huge - I know our cats were a bit edgy - two went under the bed the other spent the night on my husbands lap.

Saw that our Tescos was doing a BOGOF on fireworks, as loads of people were walking out with huge numbers of them.

I do love fireworks, especially when I was a kid, but as I'm now a cat owner I put them first - we even stay in and not go to professional displays incase someone sets off loads - is that sad or what lol
