Axa pet insurance Grrrr!

Just fed in Tom's details (aged18 at Christmas) and Axa now quoting £205 compared to premium paid in September of £117.

I would say grrrrr too except M&S were asking for £275 and excess potentially alot higher with M&S as Axa still have a straightforward £50 excess.  Am happy I went with Axa as saved a fair whack on Freddie too.

on the bright side its still less than my house insurance and alot less than my car insurance and i love lucifer infinitly more so i still consider it good value for money.

I agree, I pay £400 for my car insurance which would probably pay out £5000 max and then when I went to renew next year I'd have lost all my no claims and the renewal would be extortionate.  By comparison I pay £7 a month for up to £7000 cover and if I do claim 7K not only am I allowed to claim another 7K the following year but my premium won't go up.

Not to mention the fact that if pushed (very hard ) I could (in theory )  live without my car I couldn't bear the thought of living without L n R

Mollys went up by about £4 a month this year (have no idea of yearly amounts), Tigers is due for renewal in Jan, but I have no option other than to keep hers, due to her leg. I could change Molly, as I have never claimed for her. I did a quick quote for Zia yesterday, and I would be looking at just over £12 a month - but she is 17.

Looks like all the companies will be going up at some point then. Overall pet insurance is being used more and more so they need to keep their profits up 

I remember reading that pet insurance is the most claimed upon type.

I changed one of my cats to AXA. I bought it last week and it was 103 pounds per year.

I just try to get the quote again in AXA's website now. The same details for everything and it's now up to 160!

What's happening?..

As AXA underwrite Sainsburys it will be interesting to see how their prices go up!

My two kittens are insured with axa but that was before the prices changed,

I just done a quate to see how much it would be and its £98 per year instead of the £64 i paid!

If there going to go up that much i wont be able tyo afford it in a couple of years time

Just did a 'fictional' one for Max without saving details, its gone up from £125 to £132

Hmmmmm just did a quote for a fictional 4 month old persian using my old home postcode, which is London and managed to get a quote of £200 + grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is an abosolute pain isnt it.

I thought there was a way of doing a  non0online quote because when I spoke to them I was asked if I did it online and why say that is thats the only way you can do it but cannot see anything on their website other than online stuff.

I hope Purrs cant change the world on things like this, cos many watch us from outside and I gues if a few hundred peps all suddeny decided to get quotes all at once then they may have got a shock.

I cant understand why prices would have suddenly gone up like that cos its not the normal time for prices to increase I would have thought.

That'll be why the quotes i got didnt save me as much as Gill     Doesnt surprise theyve done that, i think i will just stay where am i now 
Cant be bothered to swap only to get peed off again in a years time.

You can do a none online quote with them, did you try a quote this way too?

Just a thought if you printed it out it will have a reference on and when you go to retrieve quote you just paste that ref in, it should still be on their system.

No, no ref on the printout - it was a 'quote summary' and there's no ref number anywhere, I've look all through - AND I didnt save it online. How do you do an NON-online quote? - I phoned the number on the quote summary, and he said that Axapet is ONLY online pet insurance - jeeeez!!!

Wow thats crazy and my papers havent come through from axa yetnbut I did save a copy of their quotes................I wonder if they have suddenly had a major increase of people taking out insurance and moving from M&S....they should not have a problem though cos thay are so big.

Well, you know we were talking about axa pet insurance last week? I got a quote for little Gwyn (4months) and the premium quote was £68.73 - I didnt go ahead with it right then, (and forgot to save the quote - although I did print it out). So today, I went through and did the quote again - surprise, surprise - the preimum quote came out at £116 - howzat that work???! Tried phoning about and basically its only an online insurance, so the phone numbers you get don't actually deal with the online quotes, but he did say there had been a price increase -what! between last week and today??? - NOT impressed
