some of us do get a little tense, many on here keep cats in for a variety of different reasons and many of us in rescue receive calls every day about the plight of cats that have been let out. So there is no 'end of' there are numerous valid reasons why many people prefer to keep cats in or at least make a cat safe garden. Perhaps when you have been on here a little longer and read the stories you may will realize they reasons are valid and make sense.

I don't think anyone is luv, however I do find it odd that you posted your comment about indoor cats after my post, considering my username. Whether you took offence to something I posted or it tweaked some nerve I neither know nor care, or it maybe it was just coincidence, but sweeping statements about all cats needing to go out will provoke some responses here. In effect, you are saying those of us who have indoor cats are not looking after them properly, and given this is a cat forum, it doesn't take a genius to work out some people might have a response to that.

Well a lady I had to visit at the weekend moved to the area 9 weeks ago. Her daughter let the cats out. One got lost and was handed into a vet 7 weeks later with a broken pelvis. He is recovering now and lucky to be alive. We told her that we had found him but she wants her daughter to take him as her other cat was killed on the road a few days ago. Circumstances vary and there is no right or wrong. Only what's best for the cat.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but there's an awful lot of people on here who will agree to disagree with you.

If indoor homes were taken out of the equation, there would be a lot more cats out there looking for loving homes, so I think it very shortsighted to be of that opinion tbh.

Cats need to go outside end of! It not the case that they cant miss what they have never had. Its more a case of, you can take the cat out of the wild but you cant take the wild out of the cat!

Just like my Grandad uso say, live in a flat buy a hamster!! well he didnt but I bet he was thinkin it! lmao

I agree. Not every animal can have outdoor access, my boy for example being FIV has to be an indoor cat. I'm sure he's happier living the life of riley in my house than the alternative, which would have been PTS if he had not been homed. Now to me, that's a fact which would have been disburbing.....

But lets not start the indoor/outdoor debate again

I know a bloke who had a RAT in his shirt pocket and the Rat seemed happy enough.

I have to disagree with the few who think its so bad. Your comments nearly border on a 'get a life' responce. Cats do as they please when there out anyway, so a kitten on a lead is as safe if not safer, as a Cat out on its own. Yes they seem like a family of 'tools' by keeping it in a bag but thats some people for ya!

I'm with Ela and Teresa on this.

While I am hopeful that the kittens owners just love the kitten very much or it needed medication at a certain time or something, so it had to be with them, as well as the danger of having a kitten possibly near unknown dogs, it just smacks to me of the whole Paris Hilton Celebculture ' scene ' of carrying your little dog about and possibly dressing it in a tutu etc. Revolting. ' Look at me and my cute kitten it's so cute, did you see my cute kitten, look cute, kitten is so cute *makes gagging sound*, by association I am also as cute rubbish. I loathe those people, can you tell ?

I won't walk my ( human ) baby round the local park without my burly protective husband due to unknown dogs doing unknown things and me being unable to protect her.

Thats lovely, it so nice they can take there kit with them

I used to take my last cat , Biggles, out on a harness for quite a while after we had him but just locally. After we stopped using it he expected to be taken for several walks per week and would trot along by my side.

Went to a local park yesterday where there is a little museum. There were loads of events for halfterm, a good day. As we were leaving I saw a family with a tiny black kitten on a lead - now I know some cats like going for walks so thought that was fine. But I realised the kitten had been kept in a mary poppins style holdall type bag and carried round a couple of history workshops - 45mins to an hour each. Not sure how much the kitten would have enjoyed that! It was very cute, and nice to see it being taken out on the grass with the dog though!
