Hi everyone,
I'm sooooo sorry I haven't given you any news about Twinkle, my internet broke yesterday (great timing!), Anyway the good news is that Twinkle is home and she's on the mend (thank god). I rang the vets yesterday and she had improved overnight but was still on her drip and in ICU they said that they were going to monitor her until 4pm and as long as she hadn't had any dioreah she could come home. I Picked her up at 5pm and although she was very weak and tired she looked a lot better, the vet said that she had been severely dehydrated and had an infection, they had given her IV fluids and antibiotic injections. The vet also said that if I hadn't of brought her when i did she may not have made it
.
She was very tired and floppy last night and she just wanted to be stroked and cuddled I have been giving her a diet of boiled chicken and fish (as advised by the vet) and she is eating and drinking well, I let her sleep in the spare bedroom last night as Star was so happy to see her that she wouldn't leave her alone and constantly wanted to play!, Twinkle was having none of it
, This morning she was more her normal playful kitty self, actually since her ordeal she has become a lot less timid and more affectionate. When we first got her (a week ago) she was very timid because she hadn't been handled and kept outside in a hutch. I believe the owners could be responsible for her illness as she was kept in dreadful conditions and Star was kept in a loving environment and she is OK. I feel really angry at them. but the main thing is that Twinkle is getting better (she is currently playing with Star so thats a good sign!).
Thankyou so much for all your concern and kind messages and personal messages, they really meant a lot when i was so upset it was nice to know you were thinking of Twinkle (and me)
