Leave a kitten in the car or take it shopping? - dilemna

Apart from once when we weren't in the car, I leave the cats in the car if I call in at the supermarket on the way back from the rescue, I just watch where I park. The one time I did take a cat carrer in the supermarket with me, I got very funny looks, and I dont think Pebbles appreciated it all that much!!

As it was, she looked so vulnerable and gorgeous. I decided to take her straight to Paula's House. She is now busy exploring Paula's living room. She will have a big bathroom with heated flooring from now until she gets homed  - She was born in a pen so its her first time for home comforts and I know Paula will look after her really well 

The reason she was going to the vets is she had a bit of blood in her poo recently which stopped today. As soon as I saw her, I realised she was the one out of the 5 last week the vet decided to stick a thermometer up her bottom. I asked if that could have been the cause. The vet went on to do it again!  - she advised worming again

If the car is parked in full sun that would be a problem. But have you looked outside today - no probs Mark. It is just that the inside of a car is like an hermetically sealed conservatory. It gets hot, very hot, very quickly. But only if the sun is shining. If it is cooler weather and no sun, I would have no qualms about leaving an animal in the car for up to 20 minutes unattended. After that I would want to be going back to check on their well-being.

I leave kittens on the car all the time. I have to! When I trap the first ones, I settle them down in the back or the car and cover them in a nice dark towel or blanket while I got back and trap some more.

They'd much rather have a kip someplace quiet than be lugged around the wine isle.

Oh well, she hasn't called so looks like kitty is going back to the cattery so I will go to Tesco afterwards instead 

Unless Sharon has her address but if Paula isn't home...........

Anyway off now as I have to go to my own vet to pick up some fortekor as well.

Is there no way you could make two trip's ?? but in saying that I used to take Misty and Hamish
on Holiday with me up to my Grandfathers up north, about a 150 ml trip (even stopped of at Tesco's in Inverness
a couple o times for messages)
I would think it would be ok to leave Kitty for 5min's

She isn't coming with me. The vet & supermarket are 5 miles away.

In fact, although I know she lives near me, I am waiting for a call to get her address and kitty will have to go back to the cattery if I don't get it.

I could go out again afterward but seems a bit silly as Paula lives round the corner to me.

I'd be inclined to leave him in the car, covered up or hidden. Surely thats less stressful for him?

If you leave in car make sure its not obvious just incase some loser thinks its fun to steal it. Ideally 2 seperate trips

I cant see the harm in leaving kitty in the car for the short mission in the shops.....probably be more stressful being taken out/put back in etc

I am taking a kitten to the vets tonight (blood in poo) - the original plan was kitty was going to stay in overnight but found out today its unlikely and I will drop in off at a fosterers house. I need to go to Morrisons on the way back so wondering if I should leave the kitten in the car or carry the cage around with me?

Not a major shop - just a few bits - what to do?
