she's actually getting very worried. I have phoned the vets (all of them) and the good news is he has not been handed in. I have walked the streets within a reasonable travelling distance for a young boy out on his first big adventure and no sign. I have beaten my way through the nettles and brambles along the rear paths, and have called at front and back, as well as peering into all my neighbours gardens. I can not believe he could disappear to comprehensively on his first big day out. I deliberately did not feed him before he went out, so he would have an incentive to come back, and the only thing I did wrong was shut the back door absentmindedly for about half an hour. Up until then he was checking in regularly and all was well. I was discussing him with the men next door and they were very taken with him, but in a nice way, though one did warn me he could get stolen because he is so attractive and friendly. Esther does not seem in the least bit perturbed, and, as she has adopted him as her kitten I am foolishly hoping this means he is OK ... I have downloaded some lovely photos of him and will make up a poster for him tomorrow at work. There doesn't seem anything else I can do tonight. I would feel silly knocking on neighbours' doors when he has only been gone a few hours. If he is still missing tomorrow I will have no qualms at all. Oh, and i have stood at the back window and stared into all the neighbours' gardens, but no sign at all of my wee boy... Am changing the name of the thread ...
