Maybe she was having a flashback to one of her bad moments from the past but she has a good home now so unless she strats to act ill or something, it was just one of those things. I reckon  ;D

Aw, she sounds like a real sweetie Jane. She seems too young to have any serious health problems ... you may well have hit it on the nail when you say she's had a turbulent past life.  Bella is now in her fifth home and was only 5 months old when she came to live with us.  Sometimes she can be very frightened of things for no apparent reason and can have odd mood swings.  I guess you can't know everything about them when they have previously lived elsewhere.

Matilda used to do things like that now and again apparently to seek attention - but only you'll know if Meesha is a high-maintenance puss like her.  Might be worth keeping an eye and seeing the vet if you're worried?

Thanks, yes, of course, I will :)  She's not particularly high maintenance, in fact she's a very 'good' cat  :Luv:  She's a very intelligent girl, but also a little nervous about some things. She almost always does everything as if it's an emergency!

How old is Meesha? My cat does that and she was diagnosed senile at the beginning of the year - hopefully that's not what's happening with Meesha.

Meesh is only two in December!!  Maybe she remembered something that hurt or upset her once?? (she was a foster cat, and wasn't cared for properly by her previous owner - she had kittens when she was only 7 months old and I think she might have had a fairly turbulent life before she came to me).

Meesha is generally a quiet cat, although she often 'tells' me when she's going to do something by 'chattering'.

However, just now she suddenly let out a series of miaows that were long and seemed urgent!  I looked at her, and she looked fine, but she turned to me and let out another howl.  I wondered what on earth was wrong and, thinking she might have hurt herself, I picked her up gently, and she howled again.  Quite worried now, I put her down gently, and observed her for several minutes during which time she walked, jumped and ran perfectly normally.  I checked her over ... nothing.  Then I thought, maybe Sabby, her son, has hurt himself!  (He's still out).  So off I went, just in case, but no!  There he was in the nearby field chasing things quite happily!  Meesh is now quite 'normal' again, so now i'm left wondering what on earth caused her to miaow so urgently???
