On Saturday, my daughter, her friend and myself brought home litter sisters and brother.
Ruby (mine) and Tigger (friends) are extremely well and no problems with their health so far............however, Peach is not so good.
Its a long story but basically we took these kittens earlier than planned cos of lies told to us by the woman whose cat gave birth.
They are all approx 9 weeks old.
My daughter picked up her kitten and said she wasn't happy with the way the kits rear end appeared to be. I looked but thinking that perhaps the kit had just used the litter I thought that was why she was wet and a little swollen. (My error)
we got them home to out separate homes and all seem well until I got a call from my daughter. The little kitten had no control over her bowels and was very runny.
ASAP we took her to the vet who warned us it COULD be Parvo and in that case the kits would all die in three days as the others would be infected also. He gave her an injection of anti biotic and wormed her and gave a course of anti biotics. again warning us that rapid deterioration would happen if it was parvo.
The good news is that the other kits remain healthy and little Peach is a lot improved regards the swelling BUT she still has no control over her bowels or weeing.
She is not using a litter tray nor does she appear to know when he is going to wee or poop. the pen she is in for safety when my daugther leaves home is covered with the stuff. when she comes home she has to clean the cage and of course she has to also clean the kit.
then she tries to play with her and cuddle her only to find that whereever the kit goes she leaves a trail of poop an her clothes an furniture.
this is not right and we do not know what to do. Of course we shall take her to the vets again but, my daughter is an invalid and is only on benefits of low wage and already she has spent out all her money on the kit.
We cant get insurance to cover her as she is already ill. But that is only money and there will be a way around that, even if it means using the PDSA.
Have any of you any ideas what is wrong and what can be done for this little baby. there is no use us asking the woman we got her from as she has moved *yes already..she was all packed and ready to go on Saturday* this is one of the reasons we got the kits early.
Please if you have any advise other than take her to the vets, which we are doing tomorrow, please can you give us some hope.....or prepare us for the worst.
