Thank you all so much, the vet has just phoned me and said that he is continuing to improve medically but seems very depressed, he has suggested we pick him up tonight and care for him at home. He will have to be on cage rest and I really want him to come home but Im scared that I wont be able to care for him properly. Im not at all squeemish when it comes to humans but am a total wuss with my babies. I dont wsnt to sound dramatic but everytime I close my eyes I just see him stuck on that spike and I just cant sleep.

Poor Charlie,

Must have been horrendous for him (and you!). Luckily I don't think they remember things like we do. Sending healing thoughts  :ahh:

Please send positive thoughts for my Charlie
« Reply #1 on: September 09, 2007, 12:03:01 PM »
My big tabby boy Charlie had a horrific accident yesterday, the sight of which is going to haunt me for a very long time.  He cam home without his collar on Friday so yesterday morning OH went over the field to see if he could see it, he shouted for me to come because Charlie had lept from the roof of a high storage unit into a tree and was stuck he wanted me to watch him while he ran home for a ladder to get him down.
I tried to talk to Charlie to keep him calm and it was all going okay until he stood on a branch that snapped and he fell and impaled himself on the spikey 8ft fence underneath, he just looked at me as if to say "please help me this hurts" I screamed for OH and somehow managed to lift Charlie off the spike, he struggeld and ran away, I knew he was badly injured and was in hysterics, nearly all the neighbours who were home came out to help us look for him because I was scared that he would just go away and hide to die.
2 hours later he crawled home and we rushed him to the vets where had emergency surgery, the vets phoned last night and said that they have transferred him to their surgery 30 miles away because there is 24hr nurses and vets.  He got through the operation and is hanging in but he could really do with some positive thoughts and for those who pray some prayers please.
I have got to phone the vets at 2pm to see how he is.

There is however some positive news for Meeka, the little Snow Bengal

Sorry to waffle on,
Im in bits here.
