Bella is doing really well, she is out of her room quite a lot in the evenings now, and has started to learn how to play, although still skittish at times. Sadly, Rowdy, the little black and white kitten was found dead this morning, they had a bit of a poorly tum, which was put down to the move, and they had got over that, and were eating well, but then he was found with Yoshi laid over him this morning. RIP little one, so sorry you didn't get the chance to have a proper home.

Well, the kittens are still at teh rescue, but she has a few people coming viewing kittens this weekend, so fingers crossed for them. Bella is looking really well now, she has put some weight on, and her fur is nice, so need to get her pic on the rehoming page this weekend, and fingers crossed she wont be waiting long. She is slightly skittish at times, so I wonder if that is where her babies got it from.

Neisha has a home now, the lady fell in love with her, her other cat is a gorgeous pure black, who is very spoilt - I said one of the conditions is that they keep in touch, as I would love to see how she turns out as an adult, so she has my address to send me regular updates!! Not looking forward to taking the boys to the rescue though, but am sure mum will be glad to have a break from them!!

Well, have someone on her way to look at the little girl - she only wants the one, as she has a male cat already, so at least she wont be an only cat, as the little girl is the most playful out of the three. The little boys will then be goign to the rescue this afternoon - still finding it hard to touch Yoshi, bless him, I suspect he may still be there when I Get back off my hols.

Sadly the home has fallen through, I honestly didn't expect to take in 8 week olds, and still have them three weeks later, but fingers crossed they aren't waiting at the rescue too long. Have been told that the little girl is probably a black smoke as opposed to a dark grey tabby, which means the little boy must be that plus white - the tabby markings are a lot less apparent on him.
Mum is still really thin and eating for Britain, she gets into scavenging mode numerous times a day, I dont seem to be able to fill her up - she has had nearly a full tin plus some biscuits this evening and is still looking for more!!

Have got someone coming looking at the two confident ones on Sat (well, they have just been sent pics, so know what to expect). Fingers crossed for them, it will be a shame the little boy has to go back to the rescue though, but not sure it is fair on him or my neighbours to keep him here while I go away.

The pure grey on the right hand side is the only girl, the other two are boys. They have been better today, the little grey and white boy hasn't been hiding quite as much, despite me having to move them while we did some DIY work in there.

Haven't got time to mess about with teh individual pics, but here are two group ones (think the second one was taken over a week ago). Mum has her stitches out on Tues, but am prob going to wait until after my hol to put her on the rehoming page, she will have a couple of weeks without her babies then, and should have put on some weight, and hopefully her fur will look better, it is brown rather than black in places at the mo.

STill got 3 unnamed kittens!! They have been here 2 weeks now and are much more confident, they have met 6 new people this week, and the two more confident ones have been fine with everyone, although most people only saw those 2!! They will play and allow people to stroke them, so I Think those two could be rehomed, even though they are sometimes a bit skittish when you walk into the room. The little grey and white boy still hides, but fortunately only occasionally hisses and lashes out at you!! Mum is sometimes a bit on the skittish side, and think she might be glad to get rid of her babies!! I Will try and find time to upload the pics I keep taking!!

Well, they have been here a week now, mum has been spayed today (dont normally do it while they still have kittens, but as they are 9 weeks, and her age, I wanted to make sure she didn't have another season, and to help her build herself up). Babies took advantage of mum not being about to completely trash the room!! They are more playful now, but only one is 90% fine with being handled, the little girl is fine with her tummy stroked but still sort of cringes when you go near her head, and the other little boy still spits and tries to hide, so the majority of time is still being spent sitting minding my own business!! They have been using my slippers and legs in the game tonight, so maybe we are getting somewhere. Got someone coming looking during the week, bit apprehensive as she seems to only want the one, but thought I would see what happens when she sees them, as she might change her mind.

They were all good at the vets. The girl and the scared boy weigh 0.84kg, the other one weighs 0.99kg, they had their first dose of wormer last night, so had some nice fish to hide the nasty taste!! The scaredy boy hasn't been under the bookcase since, I put him in the igloo bed at first, then found him half in the open, half at the side of a box, so he got a bit of a stroke, then last night and this morning they have all been on the windowsill together, I managed to stroke him twice last night without getting hissed at, I was very impressed, so he got a treat. The vet isn't too sure on mum's age, but would put her in the 5-8yo category, I really do hope this was her first litter and that she hasn't spent most of that time having babies. Am going to book her in to be spayed tonight, she weighed 3.3kg.

Might have a word with the lady who has been looking after them then T, as she said they were 8 weeks old (she gave birth under her car!!). They are getting better, the boy on one of the pics is the best at being stroked, the girl likes to watch me, but unsure when you stroke and handle her. The third one is coming out more, he was playing last night while I was sat in there, and is eating, just not as much as the others as he is hiding. Mum generally doesn't care that she only has 2 babies sat with her, I have only heard her calling for him once, even when the other two are feeding she doesn't seem to mind one is missing!! He got an accidental stroke on Sat night though, I went in, and all 3 were out, one went under the bookcase so I assumed it was him, and it was only when I stroked the two left on the windowsill and got hissed at that I realised it wasn't him!! I think he is going to be a dark grey tabby and white, but could be wrong. Have more pics of all 3 together, will try and post them at some point.

Well, they have only been here 24 hours, will assess it in a few days time - the others are playing, and just about accepting fuss, and mum likes fuss, so at the moment I am hoping that by sitting there with mum on my knee reading, they will all relax round me and come out.

Like Cara for the girl, but need some boy names now.
T - when I was sexing them last night, I really struggled as at least one of the boys has very little, and it was really looking at the girl that made me sure it was a boy I Was looking at - would that tie in with them being 8 weeks?
PB - I have made him come out once today to have some fuss, but his little heart went - the problem is that as they had been in a house pretty much since day one, I stupidly assumed they would be tame, so they all got put in the cat room, with the things in there, there isnt room for my pen too, that has to live in teh front room

I would be tempted to fish that little one out from the bookcase and put him in a kitten pen. It'll make taming him a lot easier.  :)

My little ones were terrified of toys at first, too. It doesn't last long. These days they play a kind of basket ball with them, and twice daily I have to fish the toys out of their water bowl and dry them on the radiator.  :evillaugh:

Pics have been cropped after taking them - I dont normally deal with kittens, so not sure if they are big for 8 weeks or not. The girl feels quite light, but the boy I can touch is a lot heavier.
Going to name the kittens with names beginning with C, so suggestions welcome. The only 'C' names I can remember having so far are Charlie and Chi (hope that is all!!), so anythign else.

Got a girl and 2 boys - girl is a tabby, just a very dark grey one. Boys are black and white, but do have the same unusual tabby markings in them, but I think they may fade. Girl and one of the boys aren't too bad, they will eat, play, and just about accept fusses, although not overly keen. The other boy has barely come out from under the bookcase, even when the other two were under there playing!! Some pics, and still all unnamed, even mum - I want something imaginative for her!!

This one was taken after checking the babies for sex, I think they were relived to be back together!!

Here is the one who will barely come out

One is now actually a little boy, just a not very well endowed one!! So, there is a tabby (albeit unusual tabby markings, I have got some pics of her) girl, a black and white boy, and the other one is still hiding, either black and white or this unusual dark tabby and white, and no idea of sex. They aren't very confident little kittens unfortunately, they cringe a bit when you try to stroke them and dont like being picked up, and the little girl was scared of the toys last night, but has found the elastic on the scratch post this morning. I am sure they will come round quickly, I have just under a month to work on these, as I am then on hol. Tonights vet visit for wormer has been cancelled due to not being able to get third kitten out from under bookcase!!
