Hi Gill,

Yep...Carriage is the same as last year.  Do we both pay like last year, thereby raising more cash for the recipients?

I'm fine about that.

And thanks for posting it for me...I'll try to find some good pix.  Gail's got some really good ones of her cats in the snow showing catproofing in the background.

I have to write to Gail in a mo...I'll ask whether I can forward the ones she sent me so that we can post them on the thread...they're just so seasonal and wonderful of Zeb and Zubin.

Lots of love

Roz

Well,  at last O Sneakieone...what d'ya call this?.... General's hours?

Do ya think we should start the kit at £120 this time?  It really should be priced at £300.00 now (retail price)  I haven't put the price up this year yet because of all my IT probs but aluminium has soared in price, thanks to China buying up all the metal on the world's markets, and reluctantly, after seven years of keeping the price static, I have to increase it to £300.00 with effect from the beginning of the new year.  I therefore think the starting price should reflect this and be anchored at £120.00  What do you think?

Am awaiting your comments O Sneakieone,  Is that thumping I can hear ya brain at work?  Oh no, it's Teddytubby in the litterbox.

Best wishes

Roz

Hi Lesley,

WOW...well done. Thank you...yes, that's the little beauty.  Now all I have to do is have a little chat with Tannikins and Gillikins to see what we think the SP should be...

The kit is quite a high value item and I want to raise as much as possible from it so.....where are ya Leakie and Sneakie.  Ol' Queakie has a need of ya.  (sorry to have gone awol since I last booked in but I have been snowed under with about 20,000 e-mails waiting to be replied to since my Internet probs sorted.  This coupled with work and other things, I just didn't dare look in on Purrs 'cos it's soooooo addictive)

Now could ya's post this up on the auction site for moi.  When we've decided on a starting price, that is..

Thankeeeee

Lots of love

     SECUR-A-CAT GARDEN CAT-PROOFING KIT
« on: November 23, 2006, 07:46:54 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECUR-A-CAT GARDEN CAT-PROOFING KIT

Anyone who has ever lost a cat on the road knows the heartbreak this causes.  This product offers you the opportunity to keep your cat(s) entertained within the safety of your own garden.

Description

The garden cat-proofing system has been designed to keep your cat within the boundaries of your own garden.  It fits to an existing framework of solid garden fencing.  Whether that framework is wooden, brick or chainlink is unimportant but it must be in good order and at least 5ft in height – 6ft is ideal.  Natural hedging is not suitable.

Angled brackets are fitted to your fence and these are linked with three strands of strong twine that support lightweight netting.  Cats cannot negotiate the netting which forms the barrier for your garden.

If you have sheds, pergolas, summerhouses, trees, an extension which has low eaves, or any other structure that is close to the perimeter of your garden, this will need to be cat-proofed as well.

A standard kit will enclose a 50ft x 50ft garden (150ft …..three sides, your house usually forms the fourth side).  Extra quantities are available on request but these will have to be bought at the normal price.

Full instructions are included with each kit but we are always on hand should you require any help.  It is relatively easy to install for anyone used to handling tools, but can be time consuming...especially at this time of the year when the weather and light is not on your side.

This product is not designed to beautify your garden, but having said that, it is fairly unnoticeable once in place.  Interested parties must understand however, that access to the top of the fence.... and to a distance of three feet within it, is imperative, so shrubs and trees must be ruthlessly cut back or removed.  Sadly, it sometimes comes down to a straight choice between your foliage or your cat's safety.

Starting Price: £75 + £15 carriage.

Normal Retail Price: £250 + £15 carriage  - Standard Kit only

*extra materials can be bought at the usual price by separate arrangement*.

N.B. I have to insist that genuine bidders only apply for this product because it is a serious system and I would not wish to see it being offered for resale on ebay.  It is important to the integrity of my company that this product is sold correctly and for that reason I like to discuss each of my customers' requirements with them prior to sale so that any complications can be resolved and/or extra materials be included with the product before it is despatched .…..which is why I have chosen not to sell through retail outlets or ‘ebay’

If anyone would like more information on the product or would prefer to discuss the system with me directly please e-mail me with your telephone number and I will be very happy to contact you and (hopefully) answer all your questions.

I plan to post a piccie soon.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Lots of love

OK me ol' partners in crime...do ya have me details of last year's kit?  I'm too lazy to type it all up again if ya have it already.

Would it be possible to drag the info up from somewhere and place it?

Otherwise I'll have to put aside about a half an hour while I remind meself how to do all that posting up.......but I would be DELIGHTED to offer a standard Securacat kit. I think I will have to put a minimum price on it though...so that we make more money for the sweetiepies.

Will look in later on to see if you have replied.....

Lots of love

Well, we're away 2 weeks (OH will owe me BIG after that - I don't want to leave my babies AND I'm not even a holiday person... get bored quickly if I'm not busy...). But there's also half a day before and half a day after for bring cats to and from cattery. So I think that'll pretty much cover the whole thing!!!

I'll try to make up for it by making some really nice things for the auction, though...  :scared:

Have discussed the auction with Tannibal and the date is set  ;D

Opens on 25th November and closes on 9 December 2007  ;D ;D The Rescue to receive the proceeds will be announced soon.

You are gonna be on holiday Alex?????????????? Just not good enough and you gonna miss all the fun, I would advise you change the dates immediately

If you have stuff to go in and you are not gonna be around or you see the start and wanna bid but wont be there at end, I am sure we can work something out nearer the date, so pm me early november  ;D

Hm, chances are I will be on holiday when the auction is on.... (Of course, I don't want to leave the babies and go on holiday... but OH is making me...  >:( ) Typical! I probably won't be able to bid on things, but could I still post some things to be auctioned? I mean, there might be a slight delay with posting things to the auction winner if I'm away when the auction closes.

I was so excited about coming up with ideas for things to be auctioned... Grrr...

I don't see harm starting it on the 18th, which then runs for a week or so and people can get things in the post early enough and monies paid etc and you guys can make sure the money hits the rescue account the week before Christmas.

Right I am reactivating this thread so we can discuss things  ;D

I am thinking of the auction running from 1600 Sun 25 Nov, the day after the Supreme Cat Show until 1900 Sun 9 Dec so will be a week and 1 day. This may change cos ummmmmmmm I not told Tannibal yet!

Timing is very important and we need to be able to get everyone to exchange info and send stuff out and get money in so it can get to the nominated rescue by Christmas. The rescue has not been chosen yet but as soon as it is , I will let you know.

Right what do you want to know and are the dates and times OK.

Comments on this thread please  ;D

I will of course be putting up all the rules and how the auction works for all newbies and the oldies that have forgotten

Just wanted to add that we raised £1656.50 last year  :wow:  Would be fantastic to achieve that again this year or preferably even more  :wow:

The boys have, very kindly, been ignoring lots of exciting toys so have said they would like to donate them to the Purrs Xmas auction - such kind generous souls that they are  :)

Introduction to the 2007 Chrismas Auction
« Reply #1 on: September 04, 2007, 00:18:07 AM »
Hi to everyone on Purrs and especially the members who have joined us in 2007  ;D

Now did you know that Purrs in our Hearts will be ONE YEAR old in November? :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:  We will, we will, isnt that so exciting and where has the time gone!

Right to business, there will be our annual auction once again in late November with the proceeds  going to a rescue on Purrs before Christmas and I would be sooooooooooo grateful if all you fantastic people would start saving things to be put up for auction. They can be cat related items or not and must be able to go through the post. If its not cat related we like you to dream up a sorta cat related description to make things lots of fun  :cat laugh:

How does it work I hear all the newbies ask hehehehehe!

Well is really easy and just soooooooooo much fun.  :really:

Everyone who has something to be auctioned takes a piccie if possible and then posts it up in the place we provide together with a description. And then all the peeps start to bid on it when I say start. :pcprob:  The highest bid wins as at the closing date and time...........we are very precise  as some will remember from last year

The owner of the item pays the postage and the winner pays Purrs the amount they have bid. Once the money is in then the person who has the item sends it to the winner and gets a certificate of posting.  :gpoint:

Anyway enough of all the little details, they will be put up in big detail much closer to the starting date which I still have to decide  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Also the rescue to receive the money will be announced later but you will know who that is before the auction starts.

If you want to see the fun that we had last year look under fundraising and the 2006 auction, try the kookamunga catnip bubbles cos that was a fun thread  ;D  but so were lots of others. I suspect we will be auctioning for two weeks again this year........I told Tannibal that it was too long last time but she was right it was just purrrrrrfect.  :shoosh: :shoosh:

This will be our third auction, the first was on Cat Chat and we thought we did so well but last year we were just stunned by the generosity of people and I hope that this year we can be stunned again and help a lot of needy cats for Christmas.

So dont forget...........NOVEMBER 2007 ..............for the Purrs in our Hearts Auction.

:waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting:
