Glad there's no medical cause (although I suppose that makes it harder to sort!). Fingers crossed she likes the Wilkos litter.

took mango this morn and she doesnt have a infection peter the vet said that with all the antibiotics shes on its very unlikely she has one , i asked him to check but he didnt want to
she has got fluid on her lungs so im glad i took her she has anti inflammitary medication till 13th sept specialist appoint

how much is the wilco litter please

Can I 3rd it. Last year we went to someones house to care for their cat while they were away and my heart sank when I saw the litter, it must have been the only type I had never tried for the cats. I was very impressed and it is one of the very few where we could smell absolutely no urine, when cleaning out the try.

I agree with the other, if you can smell urine after a cat has been neutered/spayed it usually indicates a medical problem.

For the kittens, I'm now using Tescos recycled paper plup litter. With the two of them chucking the stuff around like confetti, and peeing for England, it's the only thing that balances odour with hoovering success.

- Its chicken food, but it works just like clumping cat litter. Mine don't eat it. I don't know how someone first decided it might be useful as cat litter - be interesting to know how they came up with the idea of trying it in the first place! I first heard about it on a US forum - and thought they were all mad, talking about chicken food as cat litter - but curiosity got the better of me, and I tried it and me and the puss cats havent looked back since LOL!

I can second that regarding Wilko clumping cat litter - it might say "economy" on the bag, but it really works a treat. I've been using it for years and it doesn't stick on feet or get tracked around. And it does a brill job of keeping the niffy pongs down too.

i dont understand about the chick crumbs . hows that end up been used for litter . luna is a monster wi food wont she eat it ( is it chick food ????? or chick poo ????? )

I don't find the clumping too bad for sticking to persian feet - like Worlds Best - or, of course my favourite 'famous' chick crumbs! But some of the grey clumping ones that I tried were awful for sticking to 'hairy persian' feet!

you know what thinking about it she may have a secondry infection . sometimes she gets emwith her breathing probs but normally its temp

I use clumping and it doesnt stick to Mosi's feet. I use the golden grey stuff from zooplus now as it's cheaper than what I was using. I find it has good odour control.

I remember Desley saying that with one of hers (Tom?) sometimes the only symptom that he displayed when he had cystitis was stronger smelling urine.

yes, the crystals should not be smelling after a couple of days, even with a couple of cats using them. Seems like it may be a medical problem that only the vet can solve ...

I think now its warmer, the smell is more noticable but probably worth a check. not very nice

If it isn't medical, you could try the simple solution litter tray freshener. It works the same way as the spray. you just spray a bit in the tray and mix it up. It says there is enough to do 60 treatments, for about £5 in PAH I think.

ok ill take her in the morn , shes at the specialists on 13th sept and breathings not too good today so can get temp checked too

i have tried the crystals and they smell in a couple of days

ill take her in the morn , thanks guys i thought it would be a prob if she was weeing more but shes not it just smells more

I would take her to the vets for a check up and if everything is OK I can recommend Wilkos clumping cat litter ... it really keeps the smell down and clumps excellently

Strong smelling wee could be a symptom of a UTI so like Bertie's mum says, it could be a medical problem. I'd take Mango to the vets if you think it's her to check that out.

i have a little prob

i have tried ALL litters , i empty and wash xtra large tray everymorn and refill to a good depth , i remove poo instantly , mango and luna (kitten) use it

i think its mango

her wee stinks....... she seems well she is spayed ......might it be because there wee is mixing

Or have i just got a keen nose

i,m sat here and have emptied it and washed it for the second time today !!!!!!!!!its getting me down girls and boys
