Had to take Billy in the vets again on Tuesday, his mouth is still really sore but his gums have healed fine.  He's now had a steroid jab that should last him about 6 weeks and an antibiotic injection, he seems a lot better in himself and isn't wincing whilst eating, not sure how long his remaining teeth will last though  :sneaky:

Wow. Billy is just adoreable and I hope he is feeling better today. Like Mark's Clapton, our Freddie had lots of teeth out last year aged only 4 and it took a few days for him to recover but no problems since. Hope his gums stop being so sore very quickly. Big hugs to the big young handsome fella

Poor Billy.  I hope Sean was gentle with the big guy.  How's his tummy?

He was as lovely as always with him  :Luv:  His tummy's still a bit iffy and he did say it could be down to the Antirobe  :sneaky:  He's seems alot better in himself since he came home but he's been dribbling quite a lot the last few days which is down the pain I think, hopefully a couple more days should make all the difference.

I had a coffee in there this morning, and Billy just sat on the table and didn't move an inch..........the normal Billy would have had a good mooch round the consulting room so he was obviously feeling unwell  :'(

He's had a few cuddles today and the receptionists at the vets was making a big fuss of him, all of them think he's gorgeous  :Luv:  :Luv:

Billy went to the vets this morning and his mouth is still really sore bless him  :'(  He's been given a painkilling injection and an anti inflammatory and also some Ketafen to come home with.  He was so frightened, he was shaking  :'(  Sean said once he starts to heal okay, he'll give him a long acting Steroid jab and hopefully this will improve things for him.

It more than likely the Antirobe, Simon only has to have one capsule and his stomach is off!  Clindamycin is not commonly prescribed for humans for that reason.

Billy is eating really well but has had a bit of a dicky tummy since coming home from the vets  :tired:  I'm hoping by tomorrow it will settle down, I think maybe either the anaesthetic didn't agree with him or he is a little bit stressed by the whole ordeal.  I'll see what tomorrow brings  :sneaky:

Do you know the reason why his gums are so bad?  He is only a youngster isn't he.  Could it be genetic?

He's only 3 and I think it is something to do with his breed, he's had problems from when I first got him in.

Clapton was like that last year when he had quite a few out at the same time. It took him about 3 days to come round - he was really miserable. Worth it in the long run though. Hope he's perkier tomorrow  :ahh:

Just got back in with Billy and he's going to be fine  :)  He's had a fair few teeth out but the problem is down to his gums not his actual teeth.  Sean said with a few of them, they came out with a gentle pull..........basically his gums are knackered and he reckons Billy will end up toothless because of this.  Not sure how many he had out, over 9 anyway but a few of these were the small front ones.  He's going to be uncomfortable tonight but he's had painkilling injections and he's got to stay on the Antirobe for a few days.  If he's eating okay, he's going back in on Tuesday for a check up, if not, he has to go back in before.  Poor baby looks sooooooooo grumpy bless him and he's dribbling like mad, he doesn't look a happy chappie but hopefully tomorrow, he'll be feeling better.
