They're both fine now but Jaffa keeps giving me that look - you know the one that says they're really disappointed with you and never thought you could stoop that low?  I think I'm going to be made to pay for this fiasco.

Hope they're both OK now?

Yeh - I read that but it also says not to let cats groom each other within 30 mins of application and Jaffa was licking it all off himself straight away.  I often get it on a bit messily so that it's on the fur rather than the skin, but it's usually in more or less the right place so that they can't lick much of it off.  This time poor Jaffa ended up with it all around his neck and on his chest and he was blowing bubbles! So I was worried that he would ingest too much of it.  Poor lad.  If I'd just left it as it was to begin with I think it would have been a lot better, rather than spreading it by my feeble attempts to wash it off.

If you have the instruction leaflet that comes with it, I think you will find it says it will make them dribble etc but other than that will be Ok.

Well it's all dry now and Jaffa seems fine (although he has just forced me to hand feed him his tea.  chunks in gravy too - lovely to pick up!) but he did look a mess this morning with it all down his front.  He was virtually foaming at the mouth at one point which was why I was worried.  Then when I was satisfied he was ok I got a bit worried about Mosi as he seemed unnaturally quiet and his was on the side of the neck where he could reach it.  If only I'd waited until tonight to do it I'd probably have made less of a pigs ear of it all and saved myself (and poor Jaffa) a lot of stress.

if you've a vet collar handy, you could alway put that on for a hour or so until the advantage has had time to dry...... (a bit late now , I know)

I've done that before with Tilly she seems to be able to turn her head 360 degrees and always seems to reach it!  she dribbles for a while and runs about a bit but calms down quickly

I've managed to wash some of it off with washing up liquid  ;D  But he still has some on the side of his neck.  Seems fine though, other than giving me that look to show his disgust with the morning's activities.  Just noticed that I've been a bit rubbish with Mosi's too and got that more on the side of his neck than the back of the neck where he can't reach it.  This will teach me to try and apply it quickly in the morning before work!  I'm taking the rest of the day off work so that I can keep an eye on them and make sure no adverse effects.

I've rang the vets and they said to try and wash it off then keep an eye on him and take him in if I'm worried.  But washing it off is easier said than done.  I think I might just be spreading it and then he licks it because it's all wet so I might just be making it worse.   I can't give him a proper bath as I'd never get him out from under the bed if he thought something like that was in the offing.  I've got a bowl of warm water with a bit of washing up liquid in it and have tried to wash his front with that.  I think I'll leave it to dry now and see if I can brush it out then.  I know when I've made a bit of a mess of getting it on him before it's made his fur greasy for days.  But that's only been on the back of his neck, not all over his front.

Didn't get it on very well and he started washing himself resulting in a lot of drooling.  I know the stuff makes them salivate if they lick it but is it harmful beyond that?  I've tried to wash it off a bit but have just made things worse as I just wiped him with damp paper towels and now he has the stuff all over his neck area (not just the back of his neck) and some on his chest.  I know if I try to catch him to wash it off further he'll get really stressed and hide (just been chasing him around the living room for ages to do the first wash).  Will it be ok if I just leave it? I'd like to think he wouldnt be daft enough to keep licking it if it tastes unpleasant but I've never got it on as badly as this before.
