Hopefully she will pop soon and be back to normal as soon as.
Its a hard call on aborting, i was against it but this year have decided that if they are early then its not so bad. Doesnt bother me in humans tho.

With cats, they don't actually realise they are pregnant and this is why when cats have to have a cesarean, some mums will neglect their young as they haven't got a clue where they've come from......they go to sleep and wham, they have a litter of kittens. I just feel awful having to keep her caged for weeks on end

I don't agree with abortion but I think with the ferals, it's probably better for them than the loss of freedom. Up until a few months ago, I wouldn't dream of taking a pregnant one to the vets but having had a few chats with Sean and plus going through the many problems with the kittens, I have started to put the cats feelings above my own. I think before, it was my conscience that stopped me from taking them in and my views on abortion in general. Sometimes you have to put your feelings aside and think what it's doing to them psychologically

Have you found out how far gone she may be Dawn?

Defo agree on not aborting......i think as well as the health risks it would also of been a very traumatising experience for her.....then having to go back into the wild....think she would of had probs trusting humans again

She is beauful and looks to be in gorgeous condition, they have a fab life but it's a shame the people left her kitten suffering so long

Once she's had the babies, and she's been spayed etc, she can go back and hopefully settle back in straightaway. She's about 6 years old so in hindsight, I'm glad Trevor advised against aborting her babies, I think as he said, it would have been too much for her body to cope with. At least now, this will be her last litter and she can go back to enjoying life in a few weeks. As a mum, she is fantastic but she did start getting a little stroppy with the other babies which is to be expected really.

Here's mum to the 3 tabbies, as you can see she is extremely frightened so only took one piccie. She is a real sweetheart and I'm hoping she will settle down. When she's on her home territory, you can get up quite close and she does nuzzle the guy's hand when putting food out so she may be alright. I hope so anyway, I hate seeing them so stressed out and the fact she's got to be here for a few weeks is heartbreaking if she doesn't settle, I hate to see any of them unhappy

It's a shame it took so long to catch her, if she'd have been early on in the pregnancy, she could have been done. Although I hate taking them in, I just think it's so much better for them and so much less stressful if they can be done and released back to their home turf asap.

I've just spoken to Trevor now and he said decent food should sort her out and I'm going to pick a Profender up so she can be wormed properly, I'm going to put her in the crush cage and let the vet do her I think

Mum has been caught this morning but haven't got a clue how far gone she is, so she's going to have to have her babes. Speaking to Trevor, if she's nearly due to pop, the shock of aborting could kill her with losing so much weight in one go, the surgery is a lot riskier and takes twice as long so I can't take the chance on losing her. I will just have to hope that she will settle back into her colony once the kittens are weaned and she's been spayed. I'm a little worried this time round though as her last lister really took it out of her and she wasn't too good at all. I'm going to have a chat with Sean or Trevor to see if there's any supplements she can have to keep her strength up.

The little 3 legged one has been in for his check up tonight and the vet was really pleased with him

They were pleased to be reunited with their other sibling and were very vocal telling him everything that had happened since they'd been parted

I'll try and get some decent pics of them tomorrow........they are all virtually identicle and I'm not sure how I'm going to tell them apart, apart from the 3 legged one that is

The one with the three legs is absolutely fine, he's still hissy, spitty but I'm sure he'll settle down. He's due back in the vets tomorrow for a check up but the wound looks fab, I'm really pleased with the way it's healing

Sadly it would be a little too far......with him being a feral, I think it would be too stressful on him even when he's tamed down

Our 3 legged hooligan Maverick is asking if your 3 legged one can be called Maverick to - he was our smallest kitten and got the biggest name and has lived up to it since but still misses me when I am away and is my baby Mav.

Here's a couple of pics of the gorgeous tabbies that have recently been caught

I have to admit, these two are my type of babies........I just lurvvvvvvvvvve tabbies, especially fluffy ones

You can see where the little one has had his leg amputated, poor babe but he's very bright, eating well and very vocal

I need names for these babes now, not sure what the other little one is yet but the little one with the 3 legs is a little boy
