With cats, they don't actually realise they are pregnant and this is why when cats have to have a cesarean, some mums will neglect their young as they haven't got a clue where they've come from......they go to sleep and wham, they have a litter of kittens. I just feel awful having to keep her caged for weeks on end
I don't agree with abortion but I think with the ferals, it's probably better for them than the loss of freedom. Up until a few months ago, I wouldn't dream of taking a pregnant one to the vets but having had a few chats with Sean and plus going through the many problems with the kittens, I have started to put the cats feelings above my own. I think before, it was my conscience that stopped me from taking them in and my views on abortion in general. Sometimes you have to put your feelings aside and think what it's doing to them psychologically
