The raw might sort their tummies out, it is common in other generation Bengals to only be able to eat raw food, and if the breeder had them on it, they could already be used to it.

I must have got ripped off Susanne because there is no scoop in mine,

The raw meat that they have had is minced and then deep frozen - it contains all the bones etc and the breeder gets it from Yeomans in Nottingham, I might try them with some raw when they are a bit older and tummies are sorted out.

We tried RC but it made them worse. I ordered some Bozita last night which should be delivered by the weekend so they can have a special weekend feast

Raffiki did a really "good" poo this morning and OH asked me how I can get so excited over cat poo

Fingers crossed - as MM said, Bengals are known for their dodgy tums, I think raw food can help, but you have to do it right, you can't just give them chunks of meat. I hope you can find something that works. Gail had probs with one of hers until he was 1, I think she had him on RC sensitivity until then.

The Lacto B has arrived, it says 1.5g for cats and dogs so I am going to reduce the dosage because they are only littlies - problem is how the heck do you measure out 1.5g ???

Iv heard benglys have sensitive tums, i think trying a grain-free diet has got to be worth a go.
When my kittens had dodgy tums that the vets couldnt sort they had their small food allowance in about 10 portions! Bloody annoying but it worked, they were on a prescription diet - i/d - and chicken.

How old are they now?
I dont think we have seen any pics for a while

In regards to the breeder suggesting raw food for 24 hrs, i wouldnt just stick them on and off it again. If its a diet you wish to try then introduce slowly. BARF is particulary good for dogs with runny bums so would probably be the same for cats.

They LOVE each and every flavour - every one is a favourite with them

You can buy the cartons singly from http://www.seapets.co.uk/view-products/category/1208.html It works out much more expensive than Zooplus but you don't have to buy a 6 pack of one flavour so ideal to try them on it. I can't believe how cheap it is from Zooplus and it has a higher meat content that Nature's menu which is what they were having before.

Jaffa used to have loose stools. I don't know what caused it but it was at the same time as he had regular vomiting (always on an empty stomach). He didn't poo any more often and it wasnt really runny or anything, just soft. I never got to the bottom of what caused either the vomiting or the loose stools (or whether there was a connection). He did see the vet about it but the vet said it could take a while to sort out (he did have blood tests that were clear) and would be a process of elimination with food etc. That's when I started him on lacto b and it sorted him out very quickly. He's not been on the lacto b for a while now (about 2 months) but his stools have remained nice and firm

and the vomiting is a rare occurance. I suspect he may have had some sort of upset stomach/IBD or something, maybe brought on by stress as it started round about the time I got Mosi. Anyway, the point is he's fine now and I attribute that to the lacto b so I do strongly recommend it. He is also fed a virtually grain free diet, although he was on that when he had the loose stools and changing his food back to felix (which he'd eaten for years) didn't make any difference.

Has your vet said anything about switching to a grain free food as MM & Sam have mentioned? If that's an avenue to explore then Bozita is a pretty good wet food, free from grain, soya and preservatives and with a high meat content - available from Zooplus but out of stock until the 25th (sod's law

) The boys have Bozita now as it says it's suitable for all life stages, they adore it although they don't have poo issues so can only comment on the tastiness of it.

I don't think any vet likes to but, but there was no alternative as she was in a bad way and in pain and the vet just tried the injection to see if it would help. As soon as the final test results come back we will then take the next step.

Big huggles from my babies to your little girl, please let me know if you find a cure, hope she gets better soon - our vet said that he doesnt like to give steroids to kittens so I will have to wait for his nexr suggestion, the weird thing is that they can be on the same food for a week (for example) and 3 out of the 7 days the poos will be okay and the other 4 days will be "bad"

We have a kitten now about 4 months old with suspected colitis. She has had many blood tests and stool samples taken but nothing has been conclusive. A number of diets have been tried. Antibiotics and now steroids also. She is going back to the vets on Friday and if all else fails we will have her referred to one of the University Hospitals.

Morning Bobsmum - they are absolutely fine in themselves and what is bugging me is that the vet keeps going on about "chronic diahorrea" baut its not because they only "go" twice a day its just that when they do "go" its loose, if it was chronic they would be running for the tray all the time and then he said something about vomitting - neither of them has ever been sick.

It wasnt too bad this morning, a bit like a Mr Whippy ahta has started to melt

Thanks all - to be totally honest I am losing faith in the vet because he cant seem to make up his mind - thanks for changing the name of the thread Helen and for the huggles

Millys Mum - I kept them on the same feeding routine as the breeder and then put them onto dry only a week ago on the vets instructions - they hate only having biscuits, I am waiting for the Lacto B to arrive. They are not litter mates and I am finding it hard to believe that they have both got colitis - I am going to cook them some chicken tonight and see how they go -

Desley - yes they are Bengal Babies and just to tatally confuse me I spoke to the breeder yesterday and she said to put them on raw meat for 24hrs.

Fingers crossed for them - I would have thought wet food would be better due to no grains - or a very low grain dry, can't think of any offhand though. These are Bengals, aren't they?

It would be odd for all of them to develop it at the same, are they litter mates?

Sometimes colitis can be worsened by dry as its mainly wheat.
What sort of feeding routine have they been having? And did you stick with chicken?
Have you got the probiotic yet?

Hi all, the vets have now decided that the kittens coud have Colitis, the only advice they have given is to feed them bisciuts and no meat, I am feeding them Purina kitten delicate at the moment but what is the cure for this? - can anyone tell me more about this please.

mine are on Diarsanyl paste for diarrhoea. Not sure if it's safe for littlies though, but the vet should know. It claims to line the tum and replace lost electrolytes. Also how often are you feeding them as got told yesterday to withhold food for an awful 24 hours to stop the runs and let the tum recover. Sounds very like food intolerance

We have tried probiotic paste which didnt really help at all - I am going to order some Lacto B tonight and give it a go, its all so frustrating because nothing seems to help.

The vet has just phoned me and said that the Poo sample results have come back and they cannot find any problems ? obviously I am please that there is nothing seriously wrong with my babies but at the same time if they had found something they could have had the relevant treatment. Now I dont really know what to do - I bought some new kitten biccies yesterday - Pruina Delicate so Im hoping that these help.

Any ideas for remedies etc would be greatly appreciated because they are both still very loose
