Cats don't come when they are called,
They take a message and get back to you later.

Pinkbear- I didnt mean lack of respect on the owners behalf, I was meaning on behalf of the people doing the cremation.

I had my little girl cremated on her own as I wanted her back, I would like for all of my cats to be burried with me when I go.

I would brick that window up if it was mine :(

I would move house - I would find it too distressing -the thought of has upset me -if I saw it, it would destroy me. :( :( :(

That's the best memorial ever Pinkbear.  I always fell guilty when I send the little orphan kittens for normal rather than private cremation but as well as the cost, my house would look really morbid with lots of little boxes everywhere* and I always tell my husband all my animals have to be scattered with me when the time comes and he already has about ten so he is going to be scattering for a long time.

(*That sounds like I don't have much success with my little orphans  - but I do)

I had to say good bye to my Tigger in just such circumstances eariler this year. I'd absolutely nowhere to bury him, and the last time I had to do this, I had to go out at the dead of night and bury a lovely puss under a tree in the quiet wooded area. But two days later the grave had been dug up by foxes....  :'( :'(

It's not about lack of respect, it's lack of resources. I'd have done anything to avoid what I had to do... but the money it would have cost me for a private cremation couldn't help Tigger.

I still cry for my Tigger and I guess I always will, but the money I would have spent on his funeral is now feeding Apache and Squaw and will ensure they are saved from a feral life. One day, they will curl up bedside someone's fire as a much treasured pets. What better a memorial to Tigger can I get? :wow:

I suppose the red lorry is for people that don't want to or can't afford to pay for a proper cremation - its sad  :'(

It will probably be an incinerator Dawn, a funeral but with no respect.

To think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not to cry, and as we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do.

Every week at least, I look out the kitchen window and see a pink van at the back entrance of the vets next door. "Cherry Tree Farm Pet Crematorium". Not quite so depressing however as the dirty old red lorry that loads sacks into the back once a week  >:( - where pets are "discarded" rather than given a send off.

We all know it happens but I hate to see it from my window  :'(
