I had to say good bye to my Tigger in just such circumstances eariler this year. I'd absolutely nowhere to bury him, and the last time I had to do this, I had to go out at the dead of night and bury a lovely puss under a tree in the quiet wooded area. But two days later the grave had been dug up by foxes....
It's not about lack of respect, it's lack of resources. I'd have done anything to avoid what I had to do... but the money it would have cost me for a private cremation couldn't help Tigger.
I still cry for my Tigger and I guess I always will, but the money I would have spent on his funeral is now feeding Apache and Squaw and will ensure they are saved from a feral life. One day, they will curl up bedside someone's fire as a much treasured pets. What better a memorial to Tigger can I get?
