Not sure how much space you've got to put something, but how about a stencil & aerosol can of paint. Can be something as simple as your postcode or a silhouette of your cat.

Else for the plastic ones, use the hot end of a soldering iron (or a hot poker / knitting needle) and melt the ID into the item. Be careful not to melt a hole in them though...

We put our details on cards then laminated them and attached them with cable ties as they are hard to get off without cutting them. So far it has worked well.

For your name/address you can get empty plastic key rings that you put paper in, not the crappy soft plastic ones but the sort you can put pictures in.

The above wont be anti theft but i think that would be difficult to achieve if you cant write on them. I think you can get special marker pens that show up under UV light, i remember the police having them when i got my bike post coded.

You could use the same idea and paint stripes right across the sides just put cardboard against it and use a big brush to paint broad stripes

hth
Cats are like little bundles of razor blades wrapped in soft fur.

I know you said no room to paint but why not just bright red or pink nail polish on a section of one of the bars on the outside?  Just one small bit of bar is that colour? Same bar on all traps? And easy to redo it once it fades.

Identifying traps & baskets as belonging to our branch.

Hello all
Just a brief question really. We have a stock of traps and baskets and want to find a way to identify them as ours, something permenant and easy to use/make up. This is so they dont end up geting lost or even mixed up with other org traps, which has been know to happen..

It must be cheap, and easy to do.. There isnt room on the traps to paint or write anything (such as tippex or paint), i was thinking of a metal tag.. But of course it needs not to be easily removeable and not cost a fortune to do...

Any ideas people?
We have one metal cage and four or five black plastic ones.. And loads of plastic, top loading cat baskets...
We want to just put our branch name and address on it... so even its nicked its of little use if they want to sell it on.. But mainly we want this just to identify its our....

Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....
