Hi Karen good to see you back  :na na naa na:

I agree with Sootyca, keep them downstairs at night, they will be fine they are comfortable and have each other for company.

I've been lucky with my kittens (well, more like cats now) - made the decision when we got them that there was no way they were to be given run of the house at night.  Consequently they are shut in the kitchen overnight - having had supper, biscuits/water down, lots of toys.  This is all they have known and are quite happy doing this and never cry.  They are in their own routine of going out after tea and staying out until about 11pm when they come in, have lots of love and cuddles, get their supper and whilst they are eating I escape out the door.  I do hear them running round the kitchen occasionally but most of the time I think they just sleep in their baskets.

It works well for us as I am such a grouch if I don't get enough sleep.

Tigger really has been brilliant. He still sits and licks the kittens. The one thing about him is he's very greedy with food. I give them all a couple of the whiskas kitten treat things a day, and I have to hold on to Tigger to give the babies a chance to eat theirs cos he'll push their heads out of the way to get it.

They had cat food right before bed but it made no difference. You're right, Lynn, with the kids through the day I don't need to be up all night cos of the kittens, but then again if I close them out they're crying on the landing and that could wake the kids up. I think I'll just carry on as it is and hope they settle down at nighttime again  :-:

looking forward to the pics, tigger has just been incredible hasnt he the way he settled straight in  :Luv:

Re kittens at night, well its up to you but i know you have your little ones to so really disturbed nights sleep is the last thing you need to cope through the day, you'll have to decide if you want them all to sleep together in a separate room etc and let them get used to it, probably a week of crying then they'll get used to it or carry on and hope they grow out of disturbing you, some do but as we know from members here they can get into the habit of rude awakenings.

It's the kittens that are driving me mad at the minute. I made the mistake from the start of leaving my bedroom door open at night, they mostly settle down into the bed and sleep, but for the past 3 nights they've been going mad round the room and waking me up time and time again. 4 o'clock this morning I'd had enough, put them all outside the room and closed the door, and all 3 cried for about 15 minutes so I felt guilty and let them back in. They climb over everything, knocking things off shelves, if I move at all in bed they're pouncing on me thinking it's something under the quilt. . .

So now I don't know what to do, keep them out and ignore the cries, or keep things as they are and hope they settle back down and sleep   :-:

Good to see you back  ;D  Looking forward to pics of the naughty kittens and the lovely Tigger  :Luv:

I know exactly what you mean about the kittens  :tired:  I made that fatal error too  :evillaugh:  I have found that feeding them some wet food late at night seems to make them sleep for a bit longer, before I was leaving a bowl of dry out overnight for them to graze on.  I still leave some dry but give them an extra wet meal and a bowl of kitty milk, kind of like a bedtime routine like you would have with a child.  I also try and tire them out before bed with a laser toy, it seems to have worked as they are definitely not as bad as they were.

Hey everyone!
Have been really busy, plus computer dying, going on holiday etc etc. Only went to London for a few days but I missed the cats soooo much. My sister came and stayed at the house so I didn't have to put them anywhere, but I was really worried they'd forget me. Tigger was the only one who was a bit iffy when I came back, but he came round in no time.

He is a little joy to have about the place. He's so good, but I feel sorry for him sometimes when he's trying to sleep and the kittens are climbing all over him. They absolutely love him, and he's so patient with them.

I promise I'll take new pics and post them tomorrow.
