We have all the Clan Cats bridge kids on a shel in our bedroom currently waiting on the Garen of remembrance to be dug and sorted and its comforting knowing where they are.

I also add that Toerag and Haggis were dug up from our last house (they are in urns) and travelled to our new home in the car with me - their fullsized headstones came with the removal men!!!!

Ours lot are over different seasons - Toerag - April, Haggis - September, Moose - January, Hissy Holly - August, Bert -May and Breeze the BC is February and afer a lot of research I have flowers for all their months and for that time they are the focus and its nice to see them.

I got tags from pets at Home and had their names and dates inscribed and each urn/casket has this glued on.

I know exactly what you mean  I know that some people might like the idea of scattering ashes in the garden or somewhere but there is no way I could do that, Tiggy will stay with me forever this way.

That was such a beautiful card Gillian.  How thoughtful too, to have a lock of her fur.

When we had to have our last dog, Kindee, put to sleep, we got a very unexpected but lovely card from the vet's practice, signed by all the vets and the nurses and receptionists.  I've still got it, with her other things, like her collar and name disc.

Yeah, same with me. The crematorium rang to ask if I wanted a scatter box or a casket, but I wanted to keep her

Aww

I know how you feel. I just got Jasmine's ashes home yesterday. There was a delay cos of some problem with the engraver. Mine is just a simple casket with her name engraved at the top

Ah Gillian that is lovely what they did, i know it must have been a shock for you though.

That card your friend sent you is wonderful (any ideas where she got it from?)

When we collected our dogs ashes from the vets i fell apart, i actually made a right fool of myself in the surgery, crying and falling all over the place.

I'm not sure where she got the card from, but I'm seeing her tomorrow, so I'll ask.

I was going to wait till I got home to look at the box with her ashes in, but I was in the car sitting in a queue in town which wasnt moving (rush hour), so I couldnt wait and started opening it, and thats when I also opened the card and the lock of fur dropped out, so luckily no-one could hear me, but people walking by must have wondered why I was sitting in my car in floods of tears!

I love the idea of a special box for ^Suzie^ (loved ^Tiggy^'s one).

Its always heartbreaking when a pet moves on. I used to be a manager at a very well know record shop, and my regional manager would always have a go at me when I gave someone some time off when their pet died.
I used to hope that all the birds and mice my previous cats have killed aren't waiting for them when they get to heaven. That would be one hell of a fur flying fight  :scared:

I asked the vet to clip a piece of Tiggy's tummy fur and my sister bought me a lovely little heart shaped box for it (from paperchase I think) and then I put it in 'Tiggy's box' with all her other things.

Maybe you could print of Suzie's thread and pop it in her box too

When my vet came to put Suz to sleep, she had to shave a little bit of fur off her leg, and I kept that piece of fur, I just hadnt expected to get the little lock of fur back from the crem too. I have printed out her thread - I find it hard to read at the moment, such lovely messages from everyone, and it will go in the box, along with all the other things I've collected together, at the moment all her things and her ashes are in my wardrobe, and it doesnt seem quite right somehow!

The card from your friend is lovely, and it does seem as if the crematorium really cared to add that touch

The box is a great idea - the one Helen got for Tiggy is gorgeous  ;D

To think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not to cry, and as we say our long goodbyes, I nearly do.

Thanks, not the same as the one where Tiggy went then.  I asked the vet to clip a piece of Tiggy's tummy fur and my sister bought me a lovely little heart shaped box for it (from paperchase I think) and then I put it in 'Tiggy's box' with all her other things.

What a lovely thought, do you mind me asking which crematorium it was?

It was Pucklechurch - between Bath and Bristol, it says on the card run by the same family for 15 yrs and the card is actually signed Sarah, Tony and Jo, the family I presume - lovely. Now I need to organise a lovely box like you got for Tiggy, thought that was such a nice idea.

I just went to collect Suzie's ashes. They were in a lovely wooden casket with her name on the top. I didnt really feel upset when I picked them up because the box was all wrapped up, and I had to pay the bill too (oh dear!) Even when I saw the box, I just thought how lovely, but when I opened the sympathy card from the crematorium a little clear plastic bag dropped out, containing a little lock of her fur, it was so unexpectied, and it had me in floods of tears again!

My friend sent me a lovely card when she heard about Suzie, I thought the picture was so beautiful, here it is,
