I think the wire ones are more feline friendly. They can see where they're going, and don't have to be shoved into an enclosed tunnel.

I bought mine from my vets years ago. It's a large one, intended for two cats or a small dog. Funnily, Sam and Polly haven't used it together. Instead, they have lots of room on their own. Also, if they have an 'accident' in the taxi, they can sit away from the poo. (The drivers hate it; serve them right for driving over the bumps!)

Even if there was only one, it still flaming sings....................I think only one that doesnt is sasa cos she is so upset.

She doesnt meow anyway just squeaks and never heard her purr either  :(

I meant to get a new giant carrier for Misa but havent got round to it and the vet trip for booster dawns.....................oh how i hate 3 cats singing in the car for 50 miles ....................groannnnnnn.

We have decided that when we move one cat can go in my car, one in OH's and one in the passenger seat of the van that OH's dad is driving with our stuff in - will avoid the cats chorus a little bit that way... hopefully  ;) Cheese doesn't normally meow but she will join in if the others are doing it  :evillaugh:

I commited the sin of buying a new carrier that was not the official loved one of all of purrs...

Sorry, I bought a pink one instead  :wow:

But yeah, that wasn't budget friendly... If I hadn't spotted the pink one I would have gone with that one, was actually looking for it in my tesco but they didn't have it and then I spotted the other one.. But I'd got for the official loved carrier...

Umm yes... I believe that I was the one who started this umm, trend...  :rofl:

The only changes I've done to mine is to have glued the rear four latches shut as mine gets a lot of use and it adds a little to the strength of the structure.

I would love to have one of those official purrs carriers  ;D  but they dont do them in a big enough size for my cats  :rofl: :rofl:

Boopy's worked out how to undo the zip on Tigger's carrier when she's inside it, luckily usually when she's travelling she's in her big airline one that's got a proper secure latch for the odd occasions when she's shut in the carrier (normally she's on my lap or else she screams and gets herself all stressed).

The Atlas 40 carrier is very good. That's what Bilbo had for all his travelling up and down the country although he's outgrown it now.

You cant beat a wire basket, escape proof http://www.metalcote.co.uk/products.html and they last for years. Even if clipped and twisted correctly a determined cat can still bust out of a plastic box, happened the other week  :(

I agree that the Den-Avior Deluxe carrier is great.  Used it for the first time last week, Cruz cried the whole way to the vets and it was great to be able to put my hand through the little hatch at the top and be able to comfort and stroke her.  I got mine from www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk and it was about £18 I think

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can get a reasonably priced carrier? My old one, which is the traditional whicker upright thingy, is looking pretty tired. It occured I might be asked to go retrieve a lost mogster in much the same way Mark was the other day. With mine the carrier's okay, but with a puss a bit more 'emotional' I can see it failing to bits.  :-[ Plus there may also be the occasion when I need two myself!  :scared:

OH's tongue in cheek suggestion involving gaffer tape and the roof wrack did not go down well....  >:( :evillaugh:
