Hope everything's okay Cosmic.
Some good sound advice here, but try not to worry too much.
Until around 7 years ago, I'd never had a tetanus jab in my life. I used to do volunteer work at our local cat and dog shelter (back in the late seventies) and was scratched and bitten three or four times, but luckily never came to any serious harm. In those days it was "whack a bit of dettol on and it'll be fine." And it was!
Me Mum didn't believe in putting plasters on either - "let the air get to it" she'd say, although where you're working day to day with the cats it's a good idea to keep it covered to keep it clean.
Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't show signs of infection. (Then again, you're more likely to pick something nasty up from a trip to hospital these days!)
