The smell of another cat may even reassure your new cat that you're a 'cat person' and make him/her feel more at home.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

You can get it from your vet but it will probably be cheaper from vetuk, esp as it's on offer at the moment

http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=334

p.s. - if you do buy it (or anything else) from vet uk, buying through one of the rescues in the links section will get them a donation

I would recommend getting some feliway plug in diffuser and get that plugged in a few days before you get your new furbabe.  That should provide a reassuring scent.

I sense the pangs of an expectant new Mum...

Try not to worry. You won't be able to completely rid the house of Bob's smell. It'll be on things for yonks.... Christmas stuff, that old towel that you hate but is too good to through out, the cupboard under the stairs, your husband's fishing gear... To completely sanitise your home of any odours is impracticle. It'll just be one of those things that new puddy has to get used to.

If it helps to pass the time, and take your mind off things, why not go out and choose new food bowls, a blanket, perhaps a few new toys...?

And we best get pics of this new puss at soon as it arrives.  :sneaky:

 :scared: Hi

waiting for a house check as some of you probably know. anyway is there anything i should be doing in the mean time, by that i mean as Bob is no longer with us (hes at the bridge, patiently waitn)  :shify: is his scent around still

he never had accidents around the house and always went to the garden for his buisness, as he rubbed his face and body (didnt scratch sofa or anything occasionally scratch stair carpet)  is his scent going to unsettle a new cat (dont really want a kitten) .  will they still smell Bob (gone now 3weeks) any advice. :'(

 :thanks:
