How lovely for the charity to receive such a generous donation. A similar thing happend the other week in a charity in Chepstow - it was a hospice charity I think, and they got donated a piece of artwork worth £8,000. I am, however, not sure if the donator knew the painting was worth that much, or was just a bit clueless about art! The charity were thrilled tho.

Isn't it lovely to read about things like that :)

Sounds like a dodgy spam e-mail to me

I agree, I don't open e-mail from any names I do not think I recognize.

ccmacey, you've not hidden your email address in your profile. It means people can click on your name and find out your email addy really easily.

ccmacey people can mail you through this site without them ever knowing your email address - could that have been it?

I've just been catching up on the news and reading yesterday's Metro when I saw this lovely story I thought I'd share:

Volunteer Corinna Smith opened a donated carrier bag at a pet care charity shop - and found £5000 inside!! She discovered the wad of cash at the PDSA charity store in Brighton along with a note addressing it to the "PDSA Animals".  Shop manager Jackie Hack said: "We assumed it was a normal donation of unwanted items.  You can imagine our shock when we peered in and found a wad of banknotes" she added: "I've never seen so much money in one place and it was all in £10 and £20 notes"

What a lovely thing to find on your doorstep.  Lots of Brighton animals will have a better Xmas as a result of someones generosity  :donate2:
