scratched front door how can i make it better

could you sand it a bit & maybe varnish it - without seeing it, its hard to advise. If its dark, they sell different coloured waxes in B&Q - all different shades of brown. I have antique wood panelling in my hallway and It was scuffed and scracthed when I moved in. I used the "dark oak" wax and you would never know now.
