To me they are worth a million pounds or more each  , but its the vet bills which important.

None of our three are worth a dime except to us of course    so vet bills are our only concern. I've always wanted an NFC by the way but realise he/she would have to be indoor/on a lead or catproof garden as I understand they love to wander.

£50 excess per condition per year. Tbh mine are only really insured for the lost/stolen aspect rather than the vets bills side of it (although that will be handy if they ever have a major accident/injury)

What's the excess though with Halifax? The main attraction with M&S for me has always been the nil excess as over the years most of my vet bills have been for abcesses (touch wood that continues) so £50 excess makes a big difference.

Halifax are really good and pay up very fast.

Sainsbury's have a 10% online discount till the 12th August, but still look to have gone up even with that. Molly's insurance should be up for renewal soon, so shall let you know when it is.

Yes reckon I need a who;e house of new carpets from the clawing and the furball chucking along with food and my leather sofas both have scratch marks when the birmans slipped abd couldnt hangon , so slied down thew arms with claws open!

"Accidental damage to own property - cover £750" Do you think this would cover me for a new handbag? Tom threw up in my handbag in the lounge this morning. I heard him from the kitchen. Took me ages to figure out where the sick was   

Oh noooooooooooooo!   get a designer handbag for that!  

On that count though, I think I am due new wallpaper, carpet, various ornaments, a bottle of brandy, a new plate set (they sent mine crashing to the floor wed morn 3am) various cups, mugs, martini glasses  I cant remember most of the stuff they've ruined..

Yiu are probably right Lynn until the cats get to around 10yrs and then they see em as a bigger and bigger risk!!

Sadly I have 3 that fall into that category but if they are forgetting to change the age maybe mine wont go up so much. Why pedigrees cost more to insure if they were not bought as pedigrees, I dont know. The cost to the insurer for ummmmmmmmm replacement value is nil on my birmans!

Just noticed the renewal quote shows Billy age same as last year i.e. 2 altho obviously he will be 3 next month. Fingers crossed that will reduce quote a little.

when i filled out the details for the online quote the other day i mistakingly but cody in as 6 years (filled out his year and month of birth instead of years and months of age) and the quote originally came up abit cheaper, filled it out properly for his age and it was the 121 quid  

obviously m&s see the younger cat as more of a risk

So they have gone up too but only half the amount..........................as you say there is also the excess. I forgot to put in two claims for the birmans which in total prob come to £150 at least, I wonder if they will accept them very late, cos that would pay for the increases.

I am not going to accept that wording on the excess, they should have got the wording right by now.................I have always been worried that this is a fallback position to take away the nil excess if it gets to onerous and the price hike seems to be saying it is!

Yeah we found this - thought they could maybe tell Doc was a mad hyper accident pront cat somehow...

Gerti and Cheese are about £11 (month) for BOTH of them - they wanted that for Doc on his own! he is only 3

Just got online quotes from Sainsburys Gill of £80 for Billy age 3 and £188 for Tom aged 17 (neither pedigrees) but of course that comes with £50 excess for treatment below £1,000 and £75 for treatment above £1,000. Am sticking with M&S but not a happy bunny

Hmmm Rosella thats really got me worried now, and having to go through the wording of the excess every year is a pain.

Franta and Ducha are too old to move I suspect and even Sasa is moving up to 10yrs old....................I was always worried that M&S would do this but they seemed to be OK still a year ago.

I have 4 cats with them, two are pedigrees and already cost £13pm each!! Being on a pension I dont know if I can affford to keep them at M&S.

Is anyone still at Sainsburys and had a renewel recently, did it go up much?

a bummer as i was going to go for m&s come renewal time    you'll see from a post i made that a couple of months ago an online quote was around 87 and this week online quote came to 121 or there about

Billy's M&S insurance is due for renewal next month. Cost has increased by 60%!  It was £61.88 and gone up to £100.60 despite no claim having been made on policy so far. Still got nil excess although still don't like the policy wording. Have had to think long and hard about whether to renew but am going ahead. Dread to think what Tom's renewal cost will be (he is 17).
