Unfortunately Pickles does not do cute and that is actually his usual expression  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:  As any potential owner would have to be brave enough to cope with the odd swipe (or a substantial smack around the top of the head/a quick nip) it is probably better that they can see what they would be getting!

He is a lovely cat with loads of character...but a bit of a terror  :evillaugh:

Just an idea.
The pic of Pickles makes him look a bit fierce, would it help if you took a 'cute' one of him and put this on some homing sites? Perhaps one showing more of his face?

Just a suggestion.

Gosh staffies that hunt!  :( They are usually a lovely breed apart from once they are tought (sp?) to fight/kill they will go after anything that moves!

They must have the decency to make sure the dogs are penned up properly. (poor things)

Good Luck for Pickles!

No, nothing.

Although he is quite happy with me,  some less than savoury neighbours have moved in across the road.  They have three staffies which (they have told me)  are used for hunting bunnies  :( and are kept penned in the garden. The fence is not secure, neither are they responsible owners and on more than one occasion I have had one of the dogs at my back gate.

I have nothing against the breed at all but these are actively encouraged to hunt.  Unless the situation changes I will keep looking for a home for him.  :(

I have two children (10 and 7) and Pickles is fine with them but he is fairly temperamental so best in an adult only home.  One of his favourite activities is sitting on top of the shed and swiping at OH's (rapidly increasing) bald patch.  He rarely misses and claws are occasionally involved. :evillaugh:

He could not live with other cats, as my cats will testify.  :scared:

You see I would take Pickles in a flash because two of my three cats are mainly white with patches so it would be really sweet to have another one who just looks like them.  I also like the idea of his age, because my older two are 7 years old.  But.....I have a young child and although he has never been scratched or bitten and has grown up with cats and is not one of those nasty kids who do horrible things, Pickles description excludes kids... shame.

Pickles had a quite a nasty fight with another puss this morning - five minutes after being let out  :(   This is the first time things have gone this far as, although territorial,  posturing is usually enough.  There does not seem to be any real harm done but will examine him closely later.  He was however covered in mud and soaking wet so was towel dried (to his horror) and put back in the kitchen.  (He cannot go into the rest of the house because of my other cats).

if by some miracle there is someone out there with lots of patience, a sense of humour and who lives in a low cat density area (preferably the sole occupant of an island) please step forward!!!

He is lovely really!!!

Poor Pickles, when I saw the new cats in the news box I was sure he had found a new home. It's just so sad, he looks lovely.

I thought the same thing for a moment... :(  Poor Pickles, but he is so lucky to have you to look after him and love him...    to you both!!

Aww, I really hope Pickles finds a home soon, it's such a shame that people don't consider older cats or those with illnesses...   :(

But if not, it sounds like he'll have a nice life with Rosiecat, looking after the rabbits  :Luv:

If no-one comes along he will stay with me and be a bunny guardian for the rest of his days  :Luv:

I am still hopeful but as he has specific requirements and is a middle aged puss it is fading a little!

No interest at all.

I will probably take him off my local CPL website as I have not heard anything at all from them - they had a rehoming show a while ago which I thought he may have been invited to but wasn't  :(

He is quite happy pottering about and doing his own thing.....supervising whilst I clean the bunnies out and giving me the odd swipe from the top of the shed  :evillaugh:

Sadly this home is just yards away from a busy road and across the road from a supermarket so not suitable for Pickles.  :(

I have emailed you from my work address Dawn so hopefully you will receive it and thank you for trying for him.

I am one garden away from the road - so, despite my wanting to say I'll take him - I'd be terrified he'll go that extra few yards and.....

He'll get something. There is someone out there that can take him, I am sure.

Pickles' previous home was three houses away from an extremely busy road (the main road through Prestatyn).  I live in a cul-de-sac which is very quiet and he does go outside in the day but is in at night.  He is better with cats outside than he was but could not be rehomed with another cat or dog.  He is excellent with small furries under supervision and does not show any interest at all in the bunnies - he runs the other way  :evillaugh:.

His owner died on the 21st December last year and he has been with me since then.   He is at least 8+ to my knowledge.

He talks when he is eating (LOVES food) and has to be obeyed but otherwise he is  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Ta all - but reading about Pickles shows I am too close to a road - my Min was killed there last year and it is a dangerous place as it is used by cars on rat runs (etc) and the usual D**kheads with Superloud exhaut pipes and no idea what 30MPH in a built uup area means.

I hope he gets a home for Christmas, whatever haoppens.

I am back after over a year - since Min died I have been catless and it is a year on Thursday since that awful day.  Lots of claps and thanks to Sam (Fussy Furball) for staying in touch - bless!

I'd love to have him but I am one house from a main road with a postage stamp garden and work full time. Anther cat visits daily so there would be fur flying! I doubt if I would pass a house inspection anyway!

I really, really hope that he gets taken up. Just a pity that I can't offer him anything but best wishes for a lovely, loving home.

Just to update this - Pickles is still with me and is fine and happy.  There has been no interest in him at all - he is also on the local CPL website but has not had a glimmer from there either.  :(

Dawn has met him and am sure she will vouch for how handsome (and enormous) he is  :Luv:

He is a little better with cats outside than he was but can only be rehomed as a single puss.  He is excellent (obviously supervised) with bunnies/small furries and shows no interest at all in them.   He is very good in the house and is kept in all night - brought in at teatime - with no bother.
