Thanks Linda, Christine  :Luv:

We're good right now. Madam is sprawled in the hallway pretending I don't exist. Not used to this treatment, I may have to complain at this injustice. I was the one awake all night with her, I am the one who cuddles her, I am the one who cleans out the litter tray (got a nice big wee not as strong smelling today), I gave her some pilchards in tomato sauce earlier. I am the one who gives her her Katalax and/or Defurum and now I have given her watered down milk to help get some movement.....

And what do I get.. ignored.

She's lucky I love her so much. Snooty moo.

I've taken tomorrow off work as well, need to be home to make sure she's ok. Who said cats were friendly! not me! Bah!

Got to go, she's in her litter tray!!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Lexy isn't herself.  I wonder if it could be a combination of things, including your household changes and the warm weather?

I'm sorry too to hear the news about you and A.    to you.

All I need is a jolly big poo and I'll be happy.

 We didn't need to know that!  Sorry, I know you mean Lexy, I just found it a little amusing.  ;D

Hope there's been an improvement with Madam.

Well the night was survived by both of us. Lexy on the floor in the hallway woozy and groggy still and me watching her!

She's a little out of sorts this morning but she's eaten so that's good.

All I need is a jolly big poo and I'll be happy.

Results are expected Thursday.

Bless our vet. She's so wonderful. Gave Lexy cuddles and kisses before she left. Think she's a s worried as I am but won't say it. Not like her to do that..
Need sleep.

Well vet come and gone. Bloods and urine analysis to be done. Bloods because we always planned to do these as her weight problem is to be addressed and we want to eliminate thyroid.

Urine because of her feeling unwell.

Still worried but madam is coming out of her sedation (has to be or no blood could be taken).

Going to go check on her now.

 to you and Lexy.  Sorry to hear you and OH have split up.

She may be pining or it may be something else - best get the vet to check her over.  It may be the heat.  It's been very hot and sticky here and my boys go off their food a bit when they feel too warm.

No hun I'm not home.  At work. Killing me, want to be home with my baby. So worried. I never thought of trying to collect urine but the vet has a way of collecting if need be.

Lexy is ok, as in, she's still chirping at me, but I can see she's not well as she's sleepign so much and maybe uncomfortable.

She wanted to eat this morning but she's just not herself.

  to you and lexy.

i wonder if its a combined problem or perhaps not pining.

sounds like she is constipated which would explain the concentrated strong smelling urine.

Are you at home today ruth ? any chance of collecting a clean urine sample before the vet comes round ?

;D Have loads of Feliway in the house.  Nope she's just decided to give me a headache and make me worry. Vet is round later tonight so will see what is up.

Still not right. Her pee smells awful! First time I have ever had the need to hold my nose. And there was lots so I can only assume madam is drinking. Still not with her food, but lets home all is ok later. Freaking slowly.

I'm sorry to hear about you and your partner. It's most definately possible Lexy is confused why he isn't there anymore, but she will adjust. When my partner goes away some weekends my youngest tom follows me around a lot looking confused. (My partner is his favourite human.) He gets calmer near the end of the weekend, though.

A check up's never a bad thing if a cats acting stranger than usual! ;)

Cats do pick up vibes so easily, but pleased she is being checked out to be on the safe side

Sorry to hear about you and your o/h hun

Lexy is probably just reacting to the change in the dynamics of the house, and also probably knows you're not feel yourself either.

Sounds like you both need lots of cuddles from each other ...... a perfect way to spend an evening  :)

Thanks guys. T said sounds like she may be a little constipated and to give her a little watered down milk. Since she's not a fan of it I'll wait til her usual toilet time and if still nothing later will try the milk.

Lexy is so naughty at times that just not having her do her skits for me is strange.

Things will get better I know. Its always hard but I know this is the best for all of us.
If she is acting up then hopefully things will settle enough for her in the next week or so.

He's coming to pick his stuff up on Wednesday but maybe when the house stops smelling of him she'll be ok.

So lost knowing she's probably reacting to him being gone.

Wish I could fix it for her. Will give madam said cuddles in a bit. She's giving herself a clean at the moment.

Sorry to hear about you and your OH   Lexy might have picked up on how you've been feeling which has unsettled her or it may feel strange to her not having your OH around.  I think extra cuddles for both of you are in order

Sorry to hear that you've both been having a  :( time. It's amazing what animals can pick up on though, so perhaps she's just feeling all the upheaval and she's just a wee bit off colour.

I hope everything settles down for you soon and you get your Lexy back to normal  :)

Sorry to hear you're worried and have obviously been going through a bit of upheaval.
It could well be that Lexy is pining a bit, and if you're feeling out of sorts she's probably picked up on that, too.  Is she drinking ok?  Maybe if she's drinking and eating less she's a little dehydrated.
Glad you're getting her checked out and fingers crossed she is ok.

Lexy either ill or pining
« Reply #1 on: June 10, 2007, 19:06:16 PM »
Since yesterday Lexy hasn't been herself. She normally follows me around like a shadow but seems to prefer to sleep all day today.

She's been guzzling her food of late. Last 2 days she's paced herself (she used to do this all the time but sudden change bothers me).

I thought it was a bit warm so helped cool her down with a damp towel which she didn't budge with. Normally get swiped at.

Today I gave her some Katalax since she did a very dark hard pellet type poo and not as much as normal.

She even let me use the comb on her today. Normally get a fight.

Its 7pm and she's normally around my feet wanting her dinner. Currently sitting in her bed.

My baby isn't being herself.

What I should add is that my OH and I split up on Thursday so I'm wondering if Lexy is just protesting at him not being here?

A bit lost trying not to worry.

We have a check up with the vet tomorrow so I don't need to worry about having her seen. Just her behaviour has me freaked.
