Ooooo shes ginger   :Luv:

Quote
thought the hills diet would of stoped her bringing up her food but obviously not
(it worked for a bit a good few weeks but this week has been awful ) (just like it was before she went on hills)

Maybe its as Lynn said how her Fraser has times he pukes loads and then not for a while and diet doesnt effect it.

Milly goes through stages of puking normally if its too long between meals. I know dogs get something where they have too much stomach acid if they dont eat regularly so probably the same for cats. :-:

Does she always keep her chicken down? You could probably find tins of complete chicken, i think Applaws is. They reccomend a 99p tin a day so may be cheaper than using Hills.

have you tried steroid treatment (although it will mask what's really wrong). Has she had full bloods done as that can rule out various things as well as maybe show something?
think you just have to ignore OH and pester the vet for a solution.  All the best.

stomach biopsys taken via endoscope and sent away for histopathology will rule in or out both conditions that i mentioned.  I must have taken about a dozen or more x rays with 2 different types of barium preparations, varies hours apart to see pictures of stomach emptying and tracking it along the digestive system....all of which were a waste of time for fraser as it didnt help us what so ever with a diagnosis.

I think we need a piccy of Bridie  ;)

Do you mash her food up or leave it chunked? You could try making it into a puree, that may slow her down as she would have to lick it all up.
Are you still feeding little and often?

Has you discussed Lynns suggestions with your vet?

Ive said before i'd really look into the chronic gastritis line of thought and also the "helicobacter pylori" (bacterial) overgrowth.  The latter can be treated extremely effectively with a course of a certain type of antibiotics and the second can be managed if need be.  My fraser does not have any treatment for his chronic gastritis anymore...intermittent steroid use is what they recommend at veterinary universitys (where i took fraser for his diagnosis)

ive been to the vet and my vet said that in her opinion bridie must be eating the food too fast and not chewing it properly ,( even though i explained how i sit with her and make sure she doesnt rush)

my vet has looked at her mouth and teeth ,and bridie has been examined etc and ive been told i have to monitor over the next few days as it may of just been a one off (even though its happend more than once )

she said to give her as much chicken as she wants and slowy mix in the hills food again ,

tbh im thinking of going to a different vets ( despite being reistered with mine for 5 yrs)

with the other cats and my todd im always satisfied with what my vet says but with bridie im not ,

as i have 6 other cats and ive had cats all my life i know bridie is very different from other cats ,

for example forget the being sick for a minute

at the begining of this year i took her to the vets and explained to my vet the problems bridie has with her legs ,
she cant jump no where near as high as the other cats
for example she cant make it from the floor to the top of the tv(not that they should be on my tv but they do the buggars lol )

the most she can do is from the floor to the computer desk ,
where as the others including molly who is 9 and over weight can get on top of the wardrobes ,

also her legs seem to buckle or give way sometimes and she falls
(like if shes in the window then she jumps on to the sofa she sometimes slips)

when i told my vet all this
she just simply moved her legs round in circles and said they seem fine ,how can they be fine when she cant even jump very high !

my oh ( who thinks he knows it all but in reality knows sod all ) thinks bridies problems are all behaviour problems and not medical problems ,

which imo is total rubbish .

shes such a special loving friendly cat who has so much personality and i love her so much and i just wish she could lead the same life as the other cats

its very upsetting when she looks at them eat there normal food and she crys for it ,

although she likes the hills food she would much rather have normal food as she constantly trys to steal it .

shes due for another chicken fix in a minute lol shes hungry yet again poor babe

dont worry unduly..there can be less sinister reasons for chronic vomiting and she doesnt sound ill in herself from what you have said.

i had a chat to my vet this morning on phone and she advised me to starve bridie till this evening to give her tumy a chance to settle , and ring bk if she was sick anymore during the day today , anyway i starved her till half hour ago , im not kidding u she quite literelly had about 6 chuncks in gravy of the hills this evening and shes just brought it all bk up ,and of course no prizes for guessing whats shes doing now ,shes crying and trying to steal the other cats normal cat food
shes gonna have to go to the vet tommorow  :'(

im begining to think theres something seriously wrong with my little girl that has gone undetected all this time , she did have a xray on the 26th april but ive heard that there are many other things that can cause sickness after food including liver problems  :'( :'( :'( :'(

a, does this work on housework too ............ think you should pass some these tips if so

Yes the art is to do to yourself initially and make a mess of it, like smearing the windows, then he says let me do it.
Although I did catering at Poly tech I don't cook often. You see I have this habit of turning up everything up high, I just  can't get out of it. Also I have left the grill on a few times, good job we have smoke alarms I can tell you.  Seriously though he  enjoys cooking and making something out of nothing as long as we have the stuff . I have a dish washer though , its name is Stuart. He always says leave it to me, so I do. Also He hoovers  (Dyson) as he says I am not strong enough to move the bed etc. Shame I say ;D.

That is OK then, as you get older you will gradually  get good at doing things and letting them think it is their idea. ;D

My management of his condition is to regularily clean up and put up with his peuking..its puts him neither up nor down.

He goes through spells, weeks sometimes of very little if any vomiting then can vomit every day for a few days.

Diet also made no difference, or certainly has not in frasers case.
