Our poor little Smokey must have had cat flu at some time because very often he got sneezy fits and would sneeze profusely sometimes for a long time and snot and sometimes blood up the walls, radiators or wherever he stood.  Not nice at all and I had very faint paint where I was forever scrubbing it's ok if you catch it but in the night it hardens on yuk!!
Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

What do people do about cleg nuts? Anyone pick and flick those for their cats?

I'm watching mine clean themselves now and their tongues are perfectly long enough for a nose rimming so I'm inclined to let them deal with their own bogies. Although I do sympathise as picking your nose with claws must be quite risky.

also, pick and flick!

Sorry this is horrible but it just reminded me when I was young I worked in a small office and the boss was 80+ and he always wore a black apron and a black bowler hat, every day he would come into the office and sit on a stool apposite a mirror, we used to call him pick, lick roll and flick, but between the pick and lick he used to put his finger towards the mirror and have a look.

Urgh that is horrible. Why did he wear an apron to the office?

Jaffa has black crusties in both eyes and nose and I, also, pick and flick!   Not too keen on doing that to his nose but it's easy to just pick out the ones in the corner of his eyes and he lets me do it.  He's been like that since he was a kitten and the vet says it's nowt to worry about.

Does any of your babes get a black gum stain from food? Gizzy has had it from a tiny kitten?

I think I'm going to be sick...

I have to confess my kitten does have a crusty black nose sometimes.
She used to let me 'pick' it when she was younger, but not now.
She also looks like Ena Sharples occasionally, don't know if this is related?!?

That made me laugh...why does she look like Ena Sharples? Does she wear a hair net??

Mine get snotty noses too!  Vet thinks its nowt to worry about but I do occasionally errr 'pick' it for them cos sometimes it looks like it's blocking the nostril!  :-[

We (me n vet) reckon its probably mostly or all food.

Mucky pups...  :evillaugh:

Can't say I ever noticed but as 2 of mine are black, i guess black ones wouldn't show  ;D
We don't smoke in the house and quite clean air here - even though I'm in a Town Centre it's much cleaner than London - have noticed the difference in my breathing (and snot rags  )

Yeah I've had this problem .... Sox used to suffer with black "crusties" I used to pick them off for him and he didn't mind.

I know its a weird thing to ask but do your cats have bogeys?

Missy is mainly white with ginger bits and has a pink nose. Her bogeys are black and has a lot of them so i quite often pick them out for her. She doesnt seem to mind. Do your cats get a lot of bogeys and are they black???

xx
