They are amazing creatures, they can overcome things that would finish off a human.

Shonagh has reported that Astryd has been doing her best to give her ma the slip when she's pottering in the garden, and has had to be rescued from next door's garden once or twice.  We view this as a positive sign, and an indicator that her tortitude is returning to good health.   :evillaugh:  Long may it continue.   :Luv:

Spinach reports Astryd is making steady progress.  Apart from sneakily spitting out her steroid tablets when her Mom isn't looking, she's eating, has shown interest in the c a tflap and has even had a little play.   ;D. She's still a little wobbly but is definitely more "Astryd"    :)

All being well she'll be home in around an hour's time.  ;D.  She's a bit wobbly and sporting the no fur look amazingly well but everyone very pleased with her.  :Luv2:

Astryd's operation has gone well, and the Vets are pleased with her progress.  The aftercare costs are mounting up though, and they've had to re-open the fundraising to help.

Sending every good wish for Astryd and her recovery.

I got an update too, apparently Astryd will be in hospital for four days, must be nerve-wracking for Shonagh.

Astryd's appointment has been booked for tomorrow, so keeping everything crossed things go brilliantly well, and Astryd can be home with her Mum as soon as possible.

Keep your chin up, Shonagh.

;D ;D ;D. It's now reached target.  Well done and thank you to everyone who donated.  Shonagh has done so much for cat welfare and the cat community and has been I strumental in finding good homes for so many cats.  I hope Astryd can now have her surgery and make a great recovery.

It was due to Jackspratt that we found our two gorgeous girls, Drum and Bass, nine years ago. She put me in touch with Emma at Furry Friends - who'd rescued them - when I posted that I was looking for two indoor cats.
We lost Bass to an inoperable brain tumour last year, so I'm glad that Astryd is getting a chance.

Hi Sue hun
Thanks for posting.
My heart goes out to them. Will donate now

The link goes to the main go fund me page but I spotted an extra bracket at the end stopping it going to the direct page and corrected

Urgent help for brain tumour funding
« Reply #1 on: February 01, 2019, 18:07:28 PM »

Those of you who know one of our former members Jackspratt may want to know that having lost her beloved Chi in the latter half of last year following illness, her beautiful Astryd is now facing surgery for a brain tumour.

If anyone feels able to help, I'm posting a link below for a fundraising page.

All help would be very gratefully received.  Appreciate these are difficult times and so many good causes needing funds, but Shonagh is desperate to help her gorgeous girl.

Thank you for reading.  Even if you're unable to help financially I know Shonagh would appreciate everyone's heartfelt wishes for a good outcome.
