I thought this should be public knowledge

It was very clear in the terms and conditions on the website.

Hello all,

Everything is in the T&C's...Multiple entries are enabled as it allows an individual to increase their chances of getting through to the Grand Final...e.g. bit like the lottery really, your odds are increased if you buy 5 tickets as opposed to just 1.

We are getting lots of people visiting the site, voting for other peoples pets so again the mutiple entry helps you get that place in the final.

Remember everyone in the Grand Final WILL WIN a cash prize.....so once again well done everyone!  We will be announcing our judges shortly..

Cheers x

Hiya,

It was she that PM'd me Kittybabe.

I thought this should be public knowledge as I know several of us here have multiple entries. In total fairness to her she was decent enough to contact me but this wasn't clear on their website when I entered my three.

Cheers

Leigh

Helen should be able to answer that. They allow you multiple entries so therefore that implies that you should be able to have more than one go through to the final...if that is not the case, it is not clear and many people have paid up for multiple entries not knowing that their money goes to the fund and chartiy but they have no chance of really winning.

Leigh...send a PM to maccat...Helen should have an answer for that.

Thanks Tammy, she is a little darling and a gentler soul I've never known except for when she was sick on my pillow at 2AM the other morning bless her :).

I received a message today saying only one pet from each household could go through to the final though so it seems there's no point in voting for my other two although I'm sure that this wasn't advertised on their website, very confusing, else I wouldn't have entered my other two in the hope that they'd get through.

Cheers

Leigh

Edit: And it would seem the same "rule" would apply to your Bubbles :( as your Fluffy is through.

My pleasure, glad you got it, doesn't he look splendid in that pic !.

BTW how do you look at the voting percentages that I've seen folks discuss here. I'm hoping that I can get some votes for Suzie and Frankie this month ?. I don't want them to feel left out :)

My friends could only vote once from their halls of residence as they all had the same isp so couldn't vote individually and it was the same at uni so if any of my friends had voted in the morning at uni I couldn't vote from uni until the following morning  :(

Then no more then...bah..

Also, what was that Helen was saying about fraudulent votes...how can votes be fraudulent if you click where it tells you and it accepts it?  Makes me wonder why Lexy jumped from bottom 50% down to bottom 30% in the span of a day!

I don't know as I tried to vote more than once from my pc and it just said that I couldn't vote as I'd already voted in that 24 hour period. I thought that Miss Boopy wasn't going to get through as hers was always saying top 95% and I thought that it would say 'Top 20' once she was in the top 20 pets.

does it make a difference if your cat appears as a finalist 12 times...will it make much difference to the judges?

They can only be a finalist once. If Lexy is in top 20 this month they'll ignore her and pick the top 20 that weren't finalists last month.

I'm with you Lottie. Will tell mates to not vote anymore as Lexy is through.

I was a bit confused by having to vote again....does it make a difference if your cat appears as a finalist 12 times...will it make much difference to the judges?  They either love her or they love another...

"Your mission is to get as many votes for your pet as you can in any given calendar month. The top 20 pets each month with the highest valid votes will go through to our Grand Final. If you are one of the Grand Finalists, your pet will be judged by an independent panel of judges. They will judge your entry form reviewing name of pet, description and any photos you have uploaded, selecting a number of prize winners, including the Grand Prize Winner (who can win up to $1,000,000!)" Well it says on the website that once they are through they are through and judging in grand final is done by judges so I'm not voting any more for my cat and nor are my friends as there's no point.

No the final doesn't go on votes, it's judged by judges on the cats photos and write up form what it says on the petmillions site. Top 20 cats each month go through to the final and there are 12 rounds (1 each month) which is why the final is so far away.

final is end november 2007..

I don't understand why people can still vote for those cats that are through into the final. I would have thought those that got through would have had things put on their page saying that they were through to final and so didn't need people voting for them anymore.

tell all your friends!  the more people who sign up the more money in the prizefund!

hope you all had fun!  Some great pets went through this month! not sure how many other catchats are in but the one i can remember is pickford who is still in the competition and could do with your votes!

hannah - congrats! re the voting we have developed a complex piece of software that analysies votes in difference stages of the contest..
we have more than 5 ways to determine valid votes e.g. 1 vote per person per day for each entry
the voting percentage is a rough guide and is calculated on the number of ongoing total number of votes, at the end of the month all votes are then analysed, crossed checked etc etc.  Not all votes are valid and therefore some are discounted - once we delete these fraudlent votes it essentially means your votes would have been worth more! which is why you can have gone from bottom 30% to top X %.

it's all correct and above board - those who got through to the Grand Final did so on the back of being 1 of the 20 voted pets!  So well done all!
