Not the best vet visit!!

I have used r/d in the past and didn't rate it, her dry food is Proplan light, but I think wet food is the best with weight loss anyway, so she doesn't get a lot of dry.

Des did the vets not recommend any Diet food ?

I know that Hills do a dry version although not sure if she will eat it ?

Think you are getting mistaken with the orginal thread about Lucy Gill.
She is 7.9kg and 6.5yo - average weight for a female is 4kg!!
If I carry on what I am doing, she isn't going to lose any weight though, so I need to do soemthing, but I dont think I am overfeeding her - the past couple of weeks, her and Tiger have been having half a 85g tin of HiLife senior with half a 100g pouch of HiLife or Natures Menu twice a day, no biscuits - vet said she would expect her to have half a tin or less - tins are 400g, so that would make 200g of food - and if they had 2 pouches a day, that is only 200g, some days is less with the senior food. Can't see how I can give her any less food.

How heavy is she and what age Desley?

Depending on the answer to that I would just carry oon doing what you are doing, I would not slash her food. Maybe there is another reason she is so hungry?

Clare - that was my vets comment too, but she just isn't as active as Tom was, so I have the situation I had with Ginger, where it is very hard (and he hardly lost anything). Lucy has chewed quite a few food bags (never had a cat do that before!!), and last week when I had gone out for a night, she found the treats and chewed half of those too!!

any chance of giving her the same amount as your giving her at mo but in more frequent, smaller portions and making her think that she's getting more?

Kizzy developed another scab on her neck, so I took her along with Lucy last night - vet is slightly suspicious of ringworm, but it wasn't definitive under the light, so she has taken a culture, and we have to wait 2 weeks for the results - so no chance of her going back to the rescue next week!!
Lucy had another weigh in, she hasn't lost any either, despite me managing to find toys that make her play more - vet said to reduce her food, so I only have her half what I would have given her for her tea (I make them have their tea after a weigh in!!), and she was a nightmare, constantly scrounging for food, even to the point of waking me up at 3am trying to get biscuits out of the tub!! So I cant reduce her food by too much, unless I give her a small amount of dry before bed, but not sure if that is the answer - reduce wet food and put some dry in its place!!
