SOPHIE THE VET HAS JUST RUNG.

I JUST CANT BELIEVE THIS BUT ITS THE MOST WONDEFUL NEWS.............THE BLOOD TEST SHOWS MISAS T4 LEVEL AS NORMAL!!!!!!!!

MY GOD THAT IS AMAZING AND AM JUST SO HAPPY. HE WILL HAVE TO BE RETESTED AT VETS IN 8 WEEKS.

HE HAS BEEN A LITTLE BIT SICK THIS MORNING BUT NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT BUT THEY HAVE DELAYED HIS BP TEST UNTIL LATER TO GET A TRUE READING, APPARENTLY THIS IS TO DO WITH KIDNEYS, BUT  THE BLOOD  TEST ALSO SHOWS KIDNEYS ARE STABLE.

HE WILL HAVE METACAM TO COME HOME WITH.......DAM FORGOT TO ASK DOSAGE!  FRANCES PLEASE REMIND ME WHEN WE COLLECT HIM, IT MAYBE IN THE LETTER B UT DONT KNOW.

HE IS EATINF FELIX GRAVY SELECTION WITH METACAM IN AND AS NORMAL FOOD AND THEY MASH IT FOR HIM.

THEY HAVENT TAKEN PHOTOS YET BUT WILL AND GIVEN MY EMAIL ADDY SO THEY CAN BE SENT.

SHE SAID HE WENT TO HER WHEN SHE OPENED THE GATE THIS MORNING, FOR AFFECTION AND IS EATING WELL ETC AND SEEMS VERY HAPPY.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MISA COMING HOME ON MONDAY COLLECTION TIME 1100.

I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF OVER THE T4 LEVEL, I AM SO OVER THE MOON, WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RESULT  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It is funny, I was a rubbish fosterer with Merlin, he didn't have a loving home to go back to, so he had to stay, but, much as I love them, it has always been forefront in my mind that these are well loved pets belonging to Gill and I will be so delighted for the family to be reunited next week, all being well. :crossed: :crossed: :crossed:

VET SOPHIE RANG AND SAYS MISA IS DOING VERY WELL AND RIGHT NOW RELAXING AND LYING IN HIS DOWNSTAIRS AREA.  HE IS ALSO ENJOYING HIS GROOMING SESSIONS SO SHOULD BE WELL SMART WHEN I SEE HIM.

SHE ONFIRMED THAT BLOOD TEST RESULTS WILL BE KNOWN ON THUR WHEN SHE RINGS AGAIN BUT  SHE THINKS MISA IS ON TRACK TO COME HOME ON MONDAY BUT NEED RESULTS TO BE CERTAIN.

NO HYPER T MEDS WILL BE NEEDED WHEN HE COMES HOME JUST METACAM FOR HIS ARTHRITUS,

ALL OTHER QUESTIONS WE WILL DISCUSS ON THUR.

SADLY CANT GO AND SEE WHERE HE IS STAYING DUE TO ALL OTHER CATS BEING HYPER T AND A BIT SKITTISH SO TRAVEL INTO THAT WARD RESTRICTED. SHE SAID THAT SHE WILL GET SOME ONE TO TAKE A PHOTO OF HIM THERE FOR ME AND THEY WILL SEND IT  ;D ;D

SADLY NOT ONLY AKSY WILL NOT BE THERE NEXT WEEK BUT ALSO SOPHIE SO WILL NOT SEE THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN LOOKING AFTER HIM. ANOTHER ONE OF THE VETS WILL MEET ME AND EXPLAIN THE CONTENTS OF THE LETTER  ABOUT FUTURE BLOOD TESTS AND HIS HT SITUATION NOW, A COPY WILL ALSO GO TO MY VET.

SO AT PRESENT EVERYTHING ON TRACK FOR MON COLLECTION BUT WILL KNOW ABOUT AV AND MISA ON THUR AFTERNOON.

WILL THEN CONTACT FRANCES AND PAULA TO GET ALL SYSTEMS ON GO  ;D ;D ;D

Silvie was away for just over 4 weeks, and the day I went to collect her, I had to wait ages as a lady went in to see the vet with a dog just before my appointment and was in there for ages. I wanted to knock on the door and stick my head round and go "Oi! hurry up I want my Silvie back".... It was worth the wait though, she was purring away when she saw me, and looked happy. I wasn't sure what to expect her being radioactive, friends joked that she might have green fur! From what I can remember the vet did say if she needed another dose if her levels were still high, it wouldn't be for another 6 months. But thankfully not needed! Misa sounds so like Silvie, she is a really nervous cat and doesn't like strangers but after a day or so she calmed down and loved everybody there.  So not long to go now till you get him home all being well :Luv: :Luv:

 NOT QUITE TRUE KAY.

HT AFTER REATMENT HAS THREE POSSIBLE RESULTS AS EXPLAINED FURTHER UP OR DOWN LOL.

HOWEVERIT IS RIGHTTHAT  UNTIL THAT FIRST BLOOD TEST 4 WEEKS LATER THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING.

I WANTED UPDATES OFTEN AND THEY TOLD ME WITHOUT ASKING THEY WOULD RING TWICE A WEEK AFTER TREATMENT, IT WAS EVERY DAY BEFORE, BECAUSE MISA IS SO TERRIFIED OF ALL PEOPLE.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED IS THAT ONCE OUT OF RADIO ACTIVE ISOLATION WITH LIMITTED CONTACT HE HAS BECOME MORE AND MORE AFFECTIONATE AND BEEN PURRING AND WANTING ATTENTION, SO THIS FROM MY POINT OF VIEW IS VERY REASSURING AND POSITIVE.

I NEED THAT REASSURANCE TO HELP ME GET BETTER AND I LOVE MISA SO MUCH I WOULD FIND IT TOO HARD NOT BEING ABLE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WHO LOOKS AFTER HIM.

HE WILL HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM ME FOR 5 WEEKS SOLID AND WAS AT VET BEFORE EXCEPT A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE HE WENT TO LANGFORD. I BADLY MISS MY BIG BOY AND ALSO THE OTHER 2 WHO HAVE BEEN AWAY A WEEK  LONGER.

I only enquired once about Trigger's progress when he was undergoing HT treatment, and was told pretty much the same - as I understand it only another condition unassociated with the HT would alter the cat's condition, because once they've had the injection that's it as far as the HT is concerned

AKSY JUST RANG AND SAME WORDS LOL, MISA DOOING FINE EATING WELL AND USING TRAY , VERY AFFECTIONATE.

ITS UNLIKELY I WILL SEE HER WHEN COLLECTING MISA AND NEXT WEEK SOPHIE ANOTHER VET I HAVE SPOKEN TOO WILL BE LOOKING AFTER MISA AND WILL RING ON TUESDAY.

SEEMS THE MESSAGE HAS GOT THRO ABOUT BLOOD TEST ETC ON THUR BECAUSE AKSY SAYS THAT SOPHIE WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE ME THE RESULTS ON THUR!

I ASKED IF THE FACT THAT MISA IS DOING SO WELL IF THAT WAS A GOOD SIGN THAT THE TREATMENT IS WORKING BUT APPARENTLY NOT, ONLY T4 LEVEL WILL SHOW THAT.

AKSY HAS ALSO SPOKEN TO ANGIE THE VET IN CHARGE OF THE TREATMENT AND SHE SAYS IT IS VERY VERY RARE THAT A CAT NEEDS RETREATING IMMEDIATELY SO ITS MORE OR LESS CERTAIN MISA WILL COME HOME AS SOON AS HE CAN BE COLLECTED, A WEEK ON MON IN OUR CASE.

HAVE TOLD ONLY HITCH TO THIS PLAN IS IF AV OFFER ME AN APPT ON THAT MONDAY BUT SHE HAS CONFIRMED THAT IS NOT PROBLEM AND CAN COLLECT ON TUE.

SO NOW ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR MISAS RETURN AV ALLOWING AND OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT HE IS HAVING METACAM IN AND EATING, AND NEEDING METACAM TO COME HOME WITH HIM I WILL ASK SOPHIE NEXT WEEK COS SHE IS ALSO VERY GOOD TO TALK WITH. ALSO MUST REMEMBER WHAT DOSE IS HE GETTING.

OH YES OTHER QUESTION IS IF HE HAS TO GO BACK ON MEDS WHAT DOSE.  I REALLY HOPE NOT!

SORRY MY DIARY HERE JUST INCASE I FORGET SOMETHING.

You always have to look on the bright side Gill. ( I do apologise for Monty Python, Always look On The Bright Side Of Life, echoing through my tiny mind.). I know that if you look on the bleak side you won't be disappointed, but at the same time it is always better to be hopeful and positive, IMHO. There is absolutely no reason why Misa doesn't respond well to RI.  :care: :care: :care:

THATS BRILLIANT.............WAS SHE ON MEDS AFTER TREATMENT AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HER T4 LEVEL WAS WHEN SHE LEFT TREATMENT.........SORRY YOU MAY HAVE TOLD ME THAT BEFORE.

No she didn't have any meds when she came home, and her levels were slightly high from what I can remember, around the 50 mark. When she had a T4 test 3 months later they were around 21.  But considering when she was diagnosed in November 2015 they were around 150, then shot up to over 200,  and after trial and error with her pills went back to normal, and then came off for a week before she went to Barton and they shot up to over 500, it just shows you how unstable the thyroid gland can be.  I had a chat with my vet today as she wasn't busy and she said how pleased she was that Silvie responded well to the RI and in all the cases she has ever referred for the RItreatment, only 1 wasn't successful.

AKSY HAS FUNG AND MISA DOING WELL AND WANTING LOTS OF AFFECTION AND TOLD HER I THINK THAT MEANS HE IS FEELING MUCH BETTER COS BEFORE HE WENT TO LANGFORD HE REALLY WASNT INTERESTED.

SHE WILL RING AGAIN ON THUR AND THEN NEXT WEEK ANGIE THE VET WHO IS THE EXPERT IN THE RADIO ACTIVE SIDE WILL BE IN CHARGE OF HIS CAR AND WILL RING ME ON TUE.

THE EXPECTED DATE FOR MISAS RETURN IS 27 FEB ASSUMING HIS HYPER T LEVELS HAVE DRPPED CONSIDERABLY, IF NOT THAT COULD MEAN RETREATMENT BUT AKSY SAID THAT ANGIE IS THE EXPERT SO LISTEN TO HER.

AT THAT POINT IF MISA IS COMING HOME THE FOLOOWING WEEK I NEED BLODD TEST RESULTS BY FRIDAY......THEY ALSO TESTING BLOOD PRESSURE.......SO FRANCES KNOWS THAT ALL ARRANGMENTS ARE ON. IF HE WAS RETREATED THEY HAVE TO BE CANCELLED.

ALSO NEED TO KNOW WHETHER HE WILL BE ON THYRONORM AGAIN AND IF SO WHAT DOSAGE AND NEED METACAM TO COME HOME WITH HIM.

WOULD ALSO BE GOOD TO HAVE A LIST OF FOOD HE HAS BEEN EATING AND HAVING THE METACAM IN.
