i can't see why you can't rehome as an only cat though.

I could but I'm not  ;)

A quick update

Emily was checked over by Sean and she's absolutely fine, apart from me discovering just before she went, she was actually a little boy  :shy:  He didn't advise rehoming her with other cats just in case she is a shedder and if she is, obviously the stress of moving her etc would bring this out if she is a carrier.  Smokie obviously passed on something to the whole litter whilst she was carrying but all her bloods were clear so we still don't know what caused it.  To be on the safe side, she won't be for rehoming or he I should say.

He's still a little buggar and is into everything but he is at the moment happy and healthy, and I hope he continues to remain so  :Luv:

Am glad that she will have a fab home, but sorry to hear about Ollie.

I've pretty much made my peace with things for Ollie - I've known all along that he only had a limited time and that the only objective was to give him a good quality of life for that time. If I can't be confident that he's happy and comfortable then that means it's time for him to move on to the big playground in the sky.

Dawn... if I say please really nicely, would you take me a picture or two? I've already saved all the ones from her babyhood, I'm building her up an album here.

630g!  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: bless her little paws!

It looks like poor old Ollie is really going downhill this week... it's really helping me out to think that I've got another little soul coming to join me.

Assuming all goes well with Uncle Sean whenever she sees him...
Dawn, could you please ask Sean for some sort of diagnosis for her, I don't know whether it'd be sensible to ask him for a letter or something to take to my vets here to keep them clearly up-to-scratch on what Em has been through so far?

Thanks ever so.

Just found a battery that works and little Emily weighs 0.63 kg so she's putting on weight, not a lot but it's got to be a good sign  :)

I spoke to Chris yesterday and Smokie is settling in just fine  :Luv:  Emily is still a little brat but makes up for it in cuddles  :Luv:   Rebecca, if I remember, I will get a battery for my scales tomorrow and weigh her again and Sean's back this week so he can give her the once over.

Awww poor baby  :'(  :'(  I hope his end is peaceful bless him  :'(

Talking of scraps, you will have to be careful you don't tread on her, she is tiny bless her so have to watch constantly as she does have a habit of following you round  :scared:

Heehee... well I'm a wheelchair user which has plusses and minuses when it comes to not squashing cats. Big plus is that I don't move by lifting something (a foot!) up and putting it down again... wheels are more likely to nudge them then instantly squash like a foot. The flipside is that I have learnt to be REALLY careful when moving around cos I have to keep an eye on 4 wheels and 3 sets of paws and a tail at all times.

Of course I've already been through that with kittens before - my 2 - and with Ollie who is pretty blundery these days and not at all clever about staying out of the way.

How much does she weigh now?

Sorry Dawn I pressed the wrong button there, it says I modified your post but I didn't, honest! :shify:

I'm so glad this little one is going to a loving (Purrs!) home :)

She deserves it as she's a little survivor :Luv:

The only problem is, you might have to prise her from Dawns arms

Up to this present time, that sounds ideal  ;)  Will your babes be okay with her....they won't bully her or anything will they  :sneaky:

They've met and interacted with 2 fosters so far with no problem at all - will of course follow usual cat-introducy protocols but I truly don't forsee any problems. Daffy and Letty are sisters and turned a year old this June; Ollie is a palliative-care foster with a brain tumour and is in the last few weeks of his life - to be honest I doubt he'd even notice a tiny scrap like Emily around the place... as it is I'm not at all sure that he'll live to meet her  :'(

Sean's back on Wednesday so I could possibly get him to check her over then, I can't see him forseeing any problems as she's made it this far.  The 2 week break would be fab as it will give you chance to settle her down etc, I'm sure she'll be fine though, she's a cocky little minx and I think she'll soon be ruling the roost  :evillaugh:

She'll have a job sorting that one out with my current girlies... :evillaugh: seriously tho - I've got a bit of family stuff and a couple of days where I won't be in the house for a whole long day so how about right at the start of September (like the 1st... literally!) or something instead?

Well if you're serious, I will get her checked over by her Uncle Sean and we'll sort something out  ;)

I'm serious, Dawn. Such a beautiful little lady... I live in South Manchester so if you wanted to come and visit us before you decide or anything, you're most welcome.

I know Withington, my brother used to live there but he's now in Fallowfield so pretty familiar with the area.  I'll sort something out as soon as Sean's given her the once over and she's had her jabs  ;D  What I will probably do is bring her with me when I do the homecheck, I'm sure everything will be fine.  The only conditions are, you have to love her to bits, give her lots of cuddles, tell her how beautiful she is and I want plenty of piccies and updates on Purrs  ;)
Loving to bits and many many cuddles... norra problem! When do you think she will be ready to leave you, just so I can plan things out... I am a little bit busy to the end of August but then have 2 clear weeks to do absolutely nothing but spend quality time with my moggies and write a dissertation proposal.

She's an indoor only as she has eye probs becca......i know Dawn has a huge soft spot for this little one and i cant blame her  :Luv:

I know that, Ruth, that's why I said.

What I meant was that basically i'm on the lookout for an indoor only kitten BECAUSE I don't really want to make a potentially outdoor cat be indoor when they can't swap the other way round. (My garden not fenced yet but I'm saving up... pound by pound!)

Dawn - do you have a home for Emily yet?

I wasn't really looking for a home for her  :shify: but if the perfect one came along, I don't see why not  ;)  She would have to be indoor obviously and will need another checkup with Sean before she goes anywhere.  She is a little mither bum and will probably drive you crazy but she is utterly gorgeous  :Luv:  :Luv:  Do you work full time Rebecca or will there be someone in most of the day?

:) I work all but 2 hours (one hour on two days) a week from home and will be starting university in October but working on a dissertation, so again home all but a couple of hours a week.

It sounds like you're smitten to be honest - but she's a gorgeous wee lady and I'd love to have another baby here one day, seems silly to 'waste' an indoor only home on a mogger that could perfectly well be indoor/outdoor and off eating micies in the sunshine... instead of just shouting at em through the window like mines do :D

Chris will be picking her up shortly after 5pm when he finishes work, I'm sure she'll be a great asset to the Wade household but I will miss the little lady  :Luv:  :Luv:

Emily is a little hun and I have to say she is one of my favourites but don't tell the others  :shify:  Rebecca, if you decide you will be a good enough slave for her, you will have to be prepared for her running up your trouser leg and your back  :heeee heeee:  I'm covered in scratches with her, Modo and Grace thinking it's a great game to charge up mummy's body  :sneaky:

As you may know, my girls are indoor only - Letty has hip dysplasia so can't climb or jump well and isn't a very fast runner - and with my foster Ollie coming to the end of his life we're going to have a space free :) I'm not scared of gunky eyes or anything really. Let me know, eh?

Smokie is going to her new mummy and daddy sometime today, and she'll also get to see her babies and how much they've grown  :Luv:  :Luv:  She's not been spayed yet but Chris will be getting her booked in week after next as the vets is fully booked next week, I can't even squeeze any of mine in  :sneaky:  I'm sure she'll settle in just fine, she is a gorgeous laid back cat and loves to have her fusses and she's extremely good with the younger ones  :Luv:  :Luv:

Both are doing really well.......Emily's still a total pain in the bum but she's gorgeous  :Luv:  :Luv:  I was hoping to get Smokie in this week but Sean's off so they are short staffed and I've got "urgent" ones in that have to take priority.  She will probably be done next week now and then she can go to her new mummy and daddy  :)
