I'm so sorry Starlin.  How awful for you to lose Charlie in this way.  . My heart and thoughts go out to you tonight on losing your very special boy.  Sleep tight Charlie, and play hard on the Bridge.  If you can, send your meowmy a sign to let her know you're safe.  You're loved so very much and will be missed - your meowmy is heartsore.......

Goodbye my Charlie

Last Friday I had to make the hardest decision I've ever had to make and let my poor Charlie go.
Thankfully I was home that day and saw Charlie step down from the last step on the stairs and then just lie there. I called him to me and watched my poor boy try to get up. He just couldn't,  I quickly picked him up and realised that one of his hind legs hurt when touched.
I rushed him to the vets and he was seen straight away. Sadly they suspected he'd broken it but xray were needed and he'd be kept over night. I left praying everything would be ok. Within 10 minutes Iof getting home I got the call. Charlie had broken his leg but worse still he had bone tumours which were too far advanced for treatment.  My sweet boy must of been in pain and never complained!
My daughter and I went back to the vets and together we held him, kissed him and told him how much we loved him. The vets were wonderful and gave us so much time to be alone with him before and after.
He may of been a rescue cat who picked us but he showed so much love and was always there in the good and bad times with his gentle ways and little headbutt.  He's missed so so much. I take comfort in knowing that he's now with his little sister Dizzy.
Play free old man,  see you on the other side
