How were they last night, did they sleep right through or did you have to stay up late and up early in the morning?  I love to hear about their ongoing adventures.

I do love that cat tree, and they must be very brave to get to the top.  Its really classy, and I love it.

is oh asleep as well!
This made me laugh ;)
OH was wide awake & desperate to wake the kittens! He was like a big kid.

They've been running free around the living room all night. TBH, we had to give them more space as my asthma was really bad after spending just 20 minutes with them in the kitchen. It's fine now thankfully. Having them in just one room seemed to intensify the effects of two new furries.

But they've loved their new turf! I thought Beau would be overwhelmed but he's been amazing! He's explored everywhere, let me brush him from top to toe & is currently sound asleep beside me on the sofa!!!! Yay!!:D

They are just wonderful.

And they love the cat tree, first thing Beau did was climb right to the top! :)

You do realise I'm meant to be working, and not sneaking on here to keep looking at piccies.   :innocent:

But we do need more piccies.  And more video footage.  Plleeeeze?!!   :naughty:

I'm also supposed to be working & failing miserably. I'm completely distracting my staff with kitten talk. I just ended a budget meeting with

"Now, who wants to see photos of my kittens?"

The MD is my boss and he just told me I can go home whenever I want as long as I don't make him watch any more kitten videos

There will be lots more photos and videos to come  :evillaugh:

The Kittens look stunningly beautiful, and I'm really enjoying the pictures and the stories.  It is helping a great deal with my cat therapy too.

I'm sure Bailey is there supervising the naughtiness and cat chaos, his just invisible.

:Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: they are most definitely gorgeous! It sounds like they are settling really well. Bailey will be watching with interest

It's so nice to have that home feeling back isn't it? I know I felt like a weight had been lifted and that I could finally breath again.

 :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
That's exactly how I feel! I was watching them both eating at one point last night and my heart was just bursting. I realised it's the first time I've felt properly content since I lost Bailey.

This thread has made me sooooo happy!  Just know how you're feeling right now, and its the most wonderful feeling in the world.  Cats have the capacity to heal us, heart and soul - simple as that.   :Luv:  :)

Fab tips, thank you!

Andy just whatsapped me these photos with the message:

Another trick that might help: old newspapers/magazines, spread out somewhere you can comfortably put your arm underneath. When you move your hand, you provide an irresistible target to "hunt".

Yay! They are both gorgeous!  :Luv:

Chester sounds like a little ball of love  :Luv2:

Just a tip I have learned with socialising kittens - if you get Beau when he is sleepy/ asleep, wrap his body fairly tight in a towel so he cant escape. have his head sticking out tho obvs! then just hold him there stroking his head so he gets used to you.

He will probably struggle to get out at first, but if you hold him tight he should just surrender

They settled really well last night – although we didn’t leave them until 2am & I was back up at 6.30am. I’m exhausted, but soooo happy ;D
Chester conked out fast asleep a few times beside Beau, only to wail dramatically when he realised we’d crept out of the room. I think he’d love it if Andy and I could crawl in the tunnel with them for cuddles. He just wants to be with us all the time.

Beau is getting more relaxed by the minute, he just got more and more confident as the night went on & he’s much more bold when playing with Chester now. Food is definitely the way to his heart, he can’t resist the lure of the kitten food being opened. Such a huge appetite for such a teeny tiny kitten!

I have gloss kitchen units and Chester is fascinated by his own reflection in them. He keeps doing the meerkat thing, balancing on his back legs to look at himself. Utterly adorable.  :Luv:

Ohhhh and the stretching they do when they wake up, it’s like kitten yoga. I almost die from cuteness overload every time. :Luv2: :Luv2:

They’re precious when they groom each other too, although they are so different in their approach to it. Beau is slow and gentle with Chester, Chester favours the headlock and violent ear washing approach when grooming his pal. And my fingers got a little wash from beau last night so definite progress :shy:

I’m just overwhelmed by how much I love them already. And Andy is blown away by them. He’s loving his first kitten experience. Although I suspect they’ll have him run ragged by the time I get home later today  :evillaugh:

And here are some new photo's for your enjoyment, they are quite clearly the cutest kittens in the world  ;)

ooooo I missed all this last night as I had to go out.   Loving the first piccie.  Beau is a little beauty - looks to me like he has some Norwegian Forest Cat or Maine Coon-ish qualities in him.     :Luv2: :Luv2:   I'm sure that yuo'll be able to win him round very quckly, and he'll take coonfidence from Chester's moves too.

Play is definitely key with kittens  ;) :Luv:

When we had Ross, he was Tinks Beloved Friend, and they would regularly wrestle good naturedly. but Ross was quite a muscular cat, and sometimes would get a bit carried away with himself, at which point Tinks would let out a wail of distress, and each would break away from the other like this...    :-:
Within second they were usually cuddled up together.   :)

How have things been overnight?  Were you up and down like a yo-yo?   :evillaugh:

Dunno about everybuddy else, but this is so exciting.   :wow:  I love it when we have new Purrs puds to get to know.   :Luv: And yes, it does sound like you have a Mosi or a Lupin.   :evillaugh: or an Astrophe

(See you already fouund out about the real meaning of "kitten-proofing"  :evillaugh: )  They always thwart us!!

Soooooooooooooooooooo cute  ;D ;D

Give him space and time and he will find his way......................to terrorize you
Had some progress in the last 15 minutes. He came out & let me stroke him while he ate a good portion of food. Then had another little patrol around the kitchen & a play in the tunnel. Joined in with chasing a ball. Oh yes, and did a horrifically smelly poo :o

Which Chester helped him bury :D

I'm in love with them already!

So you have one Mosi or Lupin

I am sure Beau will come round soon  ;D ;D
He will with time & I'm hoping he'll follow Chesters lead a bit. Chesters 2 weeks older so he's copying him a lot. It's so sweet. I's a bit of a shame because it means we're holding off on letting Chester venture further into the rest of the house for now & he's the type of kitten who would take over the household quickly.

Although it may be a blessing in disguise. He had 15 minutes in the living room earlier and was like a tornado ;D

We'll spend lots of time getting Beau used to us touching him (already sporting some splendid scratches from his escape attempts) & try & entice him to play.

He loves being on top of the radiator cover, definitely feels safer up higher. Until Chester puts him in a head lock :)

A little photo of his 1st venture up there:

It's funny, when I adopted Astrophe and Zoonie, Astro was the one full of himself and Zoonie was the timid one. Astro is still outgoing but Zoonie has no fear now (except strangers)

They're here!!!!!

The car journey home was quite something...I've got one of those canvas carriers with the mesh sides...

Chester spent half the journey clinging on with all four paws & either trying to tear his way out with his teeth or wailing to be released. He spent the other half hanging from the top and pressing his face to the mesh wailing.:D It was like transporting a miniature tiger!

Beau was mostly silent, with the occasional bout of joining in. But that was cut short by Chester standing on him repeatedly.

Chester is really confident, he gets over any initial trepidation instantly & just wants to explore. He's already running to us when called & is amazingly affectionate, keeps headbutting us both & purrs like an engine as soon as we touch him. He's leapt about for hours & has decided the best way to enter his litter tray is by climbing on top of the lid then jumping in at speed :o

Poor Beau is still pretty petrified, but he's ventured out a few times (after initially defeating our kitten proofing & wedging himself behind the radiator, which we've now blocked) He's eaten a little & had a very cautious & twitchy sniff around but he's still really scared of us & not interested in playing at all. Humans are not his thing just yet::)

We had initially planned to bring them to our room tonight but I think it would terrify him, so I think we'll leave them in the kitchen. Which means I'll not sleep & will be up & down like a yo-yo :):

He's very secure in the scratching barrel & they're curled up asleep on one of its shelves. Chester gave him a good wash before nap time. Adorable.

We're just going to have to get him used to us & bring him out of his shell x

A beautiful video for Bailey,

Are they there yet!  (imagine saying it in the car home).

I hope they settle in well, and don't keep you up all night, but I suspect they may well.
