Aw Nic, that's such a beautiful tribute to Bailey that Andy put together.

His tunnel was made to be played with, and Chester and beau will, I'm sure, carry on the tradition. (Sorry Bailey, but you can be keeping your eyes on them and making sure they don't give your Mum and dad too much of a runaround.

Can't believe it's almost kitten time

Andy finished putting together a video for my wee Bailey tonight. I can't watch it without falling apart but I absolutely love it.
It captures my funny, balloon obsessed, greedy, cuddly, noisy boy so perfectly. I miss him so, so much

I wanted to share it with you lovely purrs peeps & I'll post it on his Rainbow Bridge thread.

The part with him playing in his tunnel really had me blubbing, especially as tomorrow it will be passed on to two new furbabies for them to play in (Bailey really wouldn't approve!

No matter how well you've kitten proofed there will be somewhere you've missed

Kito has been an extremely well behaved kitten and a dream to look after whereas Mosi was a hooligan from the minute he put paw inside the house. I think he turned me grey overnight. will you get Mosi's or Kito's - that is the question

Oh, I can relate to that. When I got Jake, he ignored the tray. Instead, he squeezed himself into a 3 inch gap at the side of my washing machine & crawled in as far as he could get

I remember when we got our very first kitten we thought he didn't use the tray a lot but as he did use it we thought that must be how kittens were......until we pulled out the bed in the spare room

How he managed to squat in 4inches clearance height I don't know to this day!

Yip, blind cords are now wrapped up inside empty loo roll tubes & taped in place. My kitchen looks fabulous

Kitten proofing is all done. My OH said last night that we have achieved “Kitten proof level – expert” he's in for a shock

It's getting so exciting, I wonder if you've remembered to get:

The meow dictionary - the cat to human translator
The paw perfector - a device to prod ones kitties bed to make sure its comfy
The thermocat - like a thermostat to test temperatures of beds to make sure they are just right, not to cold nor to hot.
The kitty litter odour exterminator - does what it says on the tin.

I would cut them off. I may be over cautious but when I had my Jaffa and Magpie as kittens I bought a cat tree with a toy dangling from a piece of string. One day Magpie got it wrapped around his paw and was left dangling and screaming. Fortunately I was nearby and able to run to his rescue straight away but if he'd been alone I dread to think of what might have happened. So now all those sort of dangly toys get cut off.

Nic, the main risk I would foresee in terms of their scratching barrel with the attachments is if they chewed the elastic the balls are attached to. You could see how they go with it while you're around to supervise. Some cats aren't chewy, others are.

The one thing you can guarantee with kittens though, is if there's mischief, they'll find it. Would seem a shame to detach the balls altogether - maybe pop it elsewhere while you're out and substitute it with one without attachments, then swap them over when you or Andy are home to keep a beady eye on things.

Meant to say I love the "cat Napping" bed.

I did wonder about one thing though. They will be spending their days in the kitchen while we’re at work just until they’re a bit bigger. I got them a scratching barrel with hidey holes to leave in there with them, but it has little toys dangling from it on elastic. You can see it in the pics I posted before. Is it safe to leave them alone with those? Or should I cut them off?
