Thank you Rosella, shes a sweet little furball, soft as candyfloss too. Bless. Her big day tomorrow, her new Dad already adores her, she meets her new Mum tomorrow, if the feeling is mutual she's off to her new life of luxury  :)

:) The fireguard is a massive help and bought for exactly the reason you describe, but for the life of me i cannot find the supplier details  :-: OH remembers it was a steal at £80 from ebay but that's probably 10 years ago and i'm stunned at the prices these go for now! I'll be more careful with it in future!

Good home check today for our little gingernut. Off to his new home tomorrow. :crossed: for him, he's going in with three toy dogs and their owner who's lovely, realistic, patient and an ex-vet nurse.  :briggin:

Further good news, young Snowball has had a lightbulb moment and realised I'm the food lady. Suddenly he's my best friend and wants in, out of the pen.  :)

Picking up Frankie tomorrow, poor lad is a victim of eviction, he's only two and will miss his little boy badly.
If I had no shame I'd be heading for the civilisation of the West Country, or possibly the West Midlands and pushing him into the arms of a good woman.  I have shame. But still open to suggestion.  :shify:

Pain killing injection from the vet yesterday and 3 drops of metacam today little Deejae is on the mend.

Anyone remember Georgia? The semi feral lady with the mammory lump? We got a call yesterday from her feeder, she's been asked to move in 10 dys time and can't take the cats. All 4 of them I've got a week... it's Christmas... two are semi feral.. sheesh :shify:

BRING IT ON! We can do this, we have the technology, we have the capability, we have Mr FABULOUS!  ;D

We home check everyone who expresses an interest in adopting from us Gill, regardless of the time of year or whether we have cats available. Because all our cats are "special" ie rescues for whatever reason (we don't rehome for private individuals at our Branch) they need a particularly empathetic home, and it's this we look for, and put owners on an "approved" waiting list until their cat arrives.

The homecheck I'm doing today is for a lovely young couple who have been looking for a kitten for some time and have already agreed what they would like, started planning their lives around pet ownership etc, so hubby has decided this is the perfect time to bring a cat in as they're both off for two weeks after Christmas. Home owners, garden, no kids, perfect. As Rosella correctly says, it can be a very good opportunity to introduce a new family member, so long as they appreciate the associated risks.

It will be a surprise for his wife, a Christmas surprise. His home is already decked for Christmas so I get to check every aspect of their seasonal decor, and provide sensible advice, he gets to meet DeeJae and hopefully form an attachment. He and Mrs Perfect will come here to collect DeeJae on Boxing Day and I'll complete my checks on them at that point.

However, in true annoying kitten style, Deejae has - this morning - produced a limp. Not a bad one, probably just a tumble, but an imperfection she didn't need to be exhibiting to her new Daddy today!

I wouldn't expect anything less from you Sheila, apart from the fact you seem to have forgotten that she is mine, all mine  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :naughty:

Seriously they sound perfect. Well done Waltham Forest AGAIN

I imagine home checking continues even if actual rehoming takes place after Christmas.  Having said that, where the would be slaves are already known to the rescuer and it is obviously not Christmas present related, Christmas can be purrfect time to rehome where people off work and able to put in time settling newbie in.  Not everyone has a crap job that makes them work through Christmas  :sigh:

Delighted that Dee Jae may be finding her forever home so quickly although not surprised as she is such a beautiful little baby  :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

Don't quite follow your comment Lyn  :-:
