Oh Sheila.  That's heartbreaking, but am very glad that you've now got Mary back in your care and can set about getting her a loving home.

Also great to hear Hans and Anton are now okay to go to their new home.  ;D

And look at crackle!   :wow:  What a little cracker.  :Luv:

Sending hugs and thumbs up gestures to all involved at WFCLUK  (Seeing it typed like that made me chuckle as I improvised on acronyms  :innocent:)

Aww, poor Mary! I don't understand how anyone can treat an animal like that - I guess none of us here can! So glad that there are no tiny kittens needing to be fed and that Mary is now safe and sound.

Sending healing vibes ~~~~~ for Anton and Hans.

Also sending lots of love and thanks to you all  da best

We got Mary!  ;D

I managed to find yet another builder to talk to whilst feeding her today, THIS chap had worked in the house where mary had her kittens over 7 weeks ago. He was able to confirm that her kittens were indeed sold 2 weeks ago and Mary had been abandoned as the owners left the flat.
It's bloody unforgivable  >:( but I've parked my feelings as the lady who flagged up Mary's plight has managed to get her back into a carrier and she's now safely in my summerhouse crate.  :)

Anyone want a mini Groucho of the female variety?  :catluv:

I also got to see me boys Anton and Hans, my special little guys are feeling much better and scheduled for release tomorrow and their new mum is waiting in the wings for her new family to arrive.  :Luv: :Luv:

Maple, our little shy baby, and Carter the rough-around-the-edges black boy (just my type but I must control these urges) are off to the adoption centre tomorrow. We've had a bumper weekend trapping so have three kittens Snap Crackle and Pop, and Baby's previous litter Peter and Jimmy in for neutering, and an abandoned Bengal Cross girl Mimi in for spay. Thankfully Mimi has landed on all four paws as her finder is a copper with the biggest heart and a real passion for cats.

Happy endings do indeed happen here in WFC.  :)

Vibes for Mary, Peter, Jimmy and Mimi who will all be neutered this week and for my amazing field ops team Tad and Mark who have been under the cosh to get these cats into safety. Thanks guys.  :thanks: :thanks:

Oh I almost forgot!

Remember GI Joe who escaped from my tender clutches and found his way 2 miles across the city back to his beloved Laura? The incredible journey based on the roads he had to cross? Well I got to see him again today and until he realised who I was he actually let me stroke him!  :evillaugh:

Little Billy has a wonderful new home, as does CocoPops and Maple is off to the adoption centre on Tuesday. :phew:

Bit of a set back, Anton has a chest infection and Hans was off his grub so they're both at the vets for observation and blood tests. Very hopeful that they will respond to vet care as we found the most perfect home where they can stay together forever.

Mary's tracker stays on, still no sign of any kittens. I'm growing convinced this girl was dumped when her babies were big enough to sell  >:( and there's no litter out there.
Poor baby must be utterly heartbroken  :( I'll be bringing her in on Friday if there's still no sighting of any kittens.  She's a weeny girlie Groucho.  :Luv:

Did we mention "Baby"? A very pregnant girl :bump: with a huge amount of love to give? She was one of three cats living in a nice lady's garden and we think the other two are her kittens from a previous litter. WFC brought Baby in and she gave birth to 6 kittens this week :omg:
We've been very fortunate in being referred a new fosterer who has oodles of experience with larger litters.  :1st place:

I'll be homechecking her on Tuesday and very keen to get this little family out of their pen and into a home asap.

Meanwhile I'm back at Baby's home turf first thing to TNR her older kids.  :tired:

Our latest baby. Crackle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOhqswr8YUg

This little one is one of a family of 5, they've proved hard to trap but their future is bright. Snap already caught and neutered and now with our amazing Tara who is fantastic at socialisng little feral kittens. Pop still out with her mum and dad and Tad  :you go girl: is on that job tomorrow while I go get Baby's two remaining juveniles.

Phew, so much for Bank Jollyday weekend!   :tired:

Mary went back out, she's wearing a tracker that is working and I've been feeding her. She's living in some garages but searching high and low hasn't revealed any kittens. One more week and she will have to come in for spay, but I've got all the neighbours on kitten alert so if they are out there we will find them.

New girl in tonight, please meet gentle Mary. Named for our Mary and it's all difficult for this one too. She's desperately underweight, she has FAD but worst she has swollen teats. I've brought her in tonight as we've searched high and low for any babies, posted flyers and lampposted. No sign. I've deflead and made he comfortable so Hoping we get a result first thing or poor Mary will need to go back out tomorrow morning.

They are so lovely Sheila  :blow kiss: :blow kiss:

Do hope Hans gets less picky soon and just love the fact that he growls for chickun  :naughty: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:  Our cat Dingle who passed on aged almost 21 on 20 Oct 1997 RIP was a devil for chickun throughout her long life.  We locked her out one night so we could eat our chickun and chips in peace.  The door bell rang and our next door neighbour was there in her curlers and dressing gown explaining that our cat was in distress by which time Dingle had flown through the door and was in me dinner   She flew on to mom's lap once and ran off with her chicken breast.

Dingle was just  >:( >:( >:( >:( ............ fabulous  :evillaugh:

Well done on all you and your trusty crew have achieved this last 6 months ...... and before for that matter  :gold stars: :gold stars: :gold stars: :gold stars: :gold stars:

Sorry that the funds take such a long time to be approved for release but imagine that will always be the case when people are volunteering their time.

Hans starts eating properly. He's such a dink at only 860g but only 12 weeks old he's a picky little beggar who only really wants chikkun (for which he growls like a Tiger).

Anyone interested in snuggly stripers? Transport to Frozen Northern Wastelands not an issue.

Get thee behind me you Witchy wummin!  :evillaugh:  He's gorgeous.  If I thought for one moment OH and  the Gurlies would tolerate anyone new on their patch (and they wouldn't....  :( )

Personally, I reckon we still have room for another 2.    :-:  But that's easy for me to say, as I'm not the one at home with them 24/7.  I think my OH had a baptism of fire with the Gurlies, and I doubt we'd ever have taken them on if it wasn't for the fact OH was retired.  Wouldn't swap them though.

And Hans has the most stubborn looking little face.  :evillaugh:  But I do love snuggly stripers.   :Luv2:

Lovely updates, thanks for hanging in there everyone!

I've just done my half year report (yes it was 20th Feb we signed our lives away to Cats Protection) and we've helped 89 cats in the first 6 months.   :chicken: :chicken: :chicken:

That way over the predicted target of 10 per month on which I based our budget bid, so your kind and generous donations have not been mis-placed.  :thanks:

I'm overjoyed to report that yesterday I receievd the confirmation letter that our charity funds have finally been approved for release and will be paid in immediately (I'm reading this as sometime before Christmas...) so we can finally put the Big Plan into action.

More good news, we have been allowed to keep the cages and traps from the previous branch so that's a bit less equipment we will need to purchase, and we have a new just giving appeal launching on one of our many public outlets.

Last week saw Lisa, Felix, Jabba and the lovely Leia move into adoption centre spaces where they will find amazing homes very quickly. This weekend Hans (formerly Iain) and Anton will be going there too, if Anton's snuffly nose clear up and Hans starts eating properly. He's such a dink at only 860g but only 12 weeks old he's a picky little beggar who only really wants chikkun (for which he growls like a Tiger).

Anyone interested in snuggly stripers? Transport to Frozen Northern Wastelands not an issue.

HI Tad,

I am so jealous that I can't have all these furbabes. ;), you'll be pleased to hear that all my Walthamstow Forest kitten cats are doing well, Merlin is trying to eat for England, but is being restrained as I don't want him to get too heavy and is using poorly paw (although it is well healed, he will always limp), he is playing with the other 'kittens', mostly with the lasers, it is so funny when OH and I both use one and seeing them trying to catch both red dots , he is still not friends with Emo, but given time and Zylkene, I am sure it will come. ;D

Hello Fur Gang  :welcome:

Some photos of my latest foster kittens - Coco Pops ( aka Bat cat ) Maple & brother Billy

Coco Pops - owner just gave her cats kittens away!!!  >:( sadly my rescue friend wasn't able to arrive in time to collect all 4  :'( so the last very tiny tortie was collected, under weight and ear mites  :censored:

Billy & Maple ( female ) found in a local garden, finder had asked locally and posted to FB but no one seen to know where they can from, unable to keep, Mark and I collected them and back home gave poor little Dirty Billy a good clean and bathed his sunburnt ears

All 3 Kittens are now available for adoption but Coco Pops is still medically unfit and on hold

These are te beauties from the boneyard.

Both ladies, in need of dental treatment as they have not seen a vet since they were evicted from the Olympic Park in 2007.

Current events may stimulate some sympathy for these cats - Olympic Games do have their casualties, human and animal.  :(

Sad tale this one, I'll update more tomorrow.

Two cats neutered and released as youngsters 7 years ago in East London have been fending for themselves all this time. Mother and Son "Angel" and "Ash" are friendly bug have never had a home if their own. As long haired cats they are not doing well, they are batted and unhappy but that's not the urgency. The railway arches they live in contains a couple of old cars - their only shelter. We just found out today the arches are to be cleared and refurbished so these cats will have nowhere to go.

Waltham Forest cats will collect, groom, vaccinate, microchip and health check these cats but we desperately need a placement for them to stay together.

Please let me know if you would consider homing two beautiful bonded blues forever, or just for a little while. Transport will be arranged for the right home.

Thank you
