Well, she was looking at me from the box on the sofa bed, so I called her over and she sat on the arm of Bonnie's pink chair.

I pushed my coffee table closer to her which had my lap top on. Grabbed my camera and called her over and she sat on my lap top and I rubbed her ear and chin - these pics are brill.

everyone, I feel so good when I come downstairs in the morning and she is laid there instead of behind the sofa bed

Julie you are so right, when she finally comes to bed with me I will explode with excitement

I think it helps that I live on my own and it's very quiet, the only people who come in my house are the Tesco/Asda delivery men/women and Alan, the guy that takes her to the vet and back for me.

Mary isn't it just so rewarding when they allow you just a little way into their space. When you have to try just that bit harder to be part of their life. It can make your heart sing when they hold out that paw towards you and allow just a small step towards friendship.

Thanks everyone, she is so cute when she looks up at me wither gorgeous eyes and gives a tiny meow

Today she was sat on the arm of Bonnie's pink chair and she was looking at me and meowing so I called her over to me. She jumped down and sat at my feet so I chanced picking her up, I held her to my chest wondering if she would sit down she didn't hiss and she was purring her head off. BUT, 10 seconds or less she was struggling to get down so I lifted her down so that she knew I wasn't trying to hurt her

Mary she looks so content. It must be so rewarding for you to have her start to really accept you. You must have a big smile in your heart every time she takes a step nearer to feeling completely at home, and at ease with you. And so nice for Kitty to not feel so stressed all the time. Such a lovely reward for you both.

Well, today I feel like I have a cat again, why? Just take a look at my pics

She's not running away when I come in the room.

I put a self heating pad on the floor next to my feet where she sits and she really made herself comfy

I emptied out my Zooplus delivery from the other day and moved most of my Tesco delivery and guess what? she found a box to lay on

She has also been looking out of the window at the birdies in the trees.

She really needs her claws trimming but I don't want her to hate me after getting so far. She has to have blood tests to see if the thyroid tablets are doing the job every 3 months and is due in August so I'll get the vet assistant to do them for me.

I would be doing the same if Sasa would come and sit with me or not run away when I walked passed.

She is in my bed at the moment but will leave if I want to go to bed.

She will come for strokes at top of stairs when I go to bed but thats it, after 10 years!

Last night she smelt Misas fish pate and left lol................I know what she likes most

An even bigger surprise this morning

She came out from the sofa bed and went for a poo followed by somet to eat and then sat at my feet having a wash and purring her head off. She kept looking up at my knee so I called her up and tapped my knee for about 20 minutes.

Finally she grabbed hold of the settee arm and tried to climb up but she got a few claws caught and I lifted her bum on to my knee but when I tried to get her claws unattached she jumped down. No hissing or anything and she sat there for aboutanother 5 minutes before she went behind the sofa bed again

On Monday she will have been with me 6 weeks so I suppose she's doing ok after all she's been through. Can't wait forher to find my bed

She jumped down for me to feed her and then she went back on it, BIG SHOCK

She sat there for a while having a wash and then sat there looking out of the window for ages.

Let's hope this is the start of something big

I'm so sorry you've been through so much.
I'm glad kitty is getting more confident. Amber did after mogs died and is another self feeding tortie. I sellotaped the insides of toilet rolls into a pyramid and hide treats in them for her to hook out.
