Cats and dogs hate to be kissed

Ollie loves loves getting the top of his head kissed.  Loki is just 5 months old so still learning but will accept a kiss on the head.

Very occasionally I'll get a lippy kiss from both of them.

I read another article saying cats hate being stroked. Bizarre.

My mam said that at the weekend too. Dexter doesn't, Evie does when she's in the right fettle, and Denzel cant get enough!

Minty likes being kissed, or at least doesn't mind it.

In fact, all of my 5 weren't against it. I suppose Paws was less of a cuddles cat than the other 4, but she didn't dislike it.

Awww, it all sounds so sweet.

My two look at me daggers if I approach them for a kiss, I can get away with snuggling my face against their tummies but they will NOT be kissed on the face.

Sometimes when Bonnie's sat on sofa arm and I look at her, she turns her head towards me and then rubs her nose on mine

Evie though, if you walk up to her like you are going to kiss her on the lips ( how ridiculous do I sound....!) she will lift her head up to kiss you back 

Does she really?   How sweet is that!     especially given she has more reason than many not to be so forgiving of humans.  You've really turned that cat around Ems.

Cashie and Izzy both hate kisses and pull away with faces like thunder whenever I try, it is quite funny.

They are both very affectionate otherwise and love being stroked and brushed and they wash each other's faces.

So many cats are so much more receptive to kisses when snuggling in bed with us.

Zoonie and Astrophe do that. But I get them when they least expect it.

If Bonnie is sitting in the arm of the sofa next to me and I lean in for a kiss she pulls away. However, when I am laid on the bed with her I could kiss her for hours.

My old cat Chloe used to do that.  For the single people I think it's the kitties are like the teenager say ' no Mum ewwwwe yucky, don't kiss me in public' stuff.  For the dogs with couples that's a different kettle of fish, it is showing a dominance problem where the dog think's his the womens man.    My current dog loves kisses and it can be from anyone - his a right tart.
